Provider information

1pMobile highlights

These are provider-level statements, not assumptions about a particular handset. Terms and coverage can vary.

Reading the roaming figures: “EU roaming: 14GB” on a deal card indicates a maximum, not an extra data allowance. A 5GB UK bundle does not give you 14GB of included data abroad. Check the provider's roaming conditions before ordering.

Which 1pMobile deal should you choose?

1pMobile is worth considering if EE-based coverage works well where you live and travel, and you prefer a flexible SIM to a long commitment. It is not automatically the cheapest option, and the biggest data bundle is not automatically the best value. Start by checking how much mobile data you actually used in your last three complete allowance periods.

Your usageSensible starting pointWhat to check before you pay
Occasional calls and almost no dataClassic PAYG, compared with the smallest bundlePAYG's minimum-spend rule; classic credit is not one of the live bundle cards above
Mainly Wi-Fi, with some data away from homeA smaller 30-day bundleWhether it covers your busiest normal period without chargeable excess data
Regular video, navigation, social apps or occasional laptop tetheringThe middle-sized bundlesActual recent data use; an allowance you never approach can be wasted money
Heavy phone and hotspot useLarge fixed allowances compared with unlimitedFair-use rules, connection reliability, and whether the extra data is useful
Frequent EU travelA bundle with enough eligible roaming dataThe 14GB roaming ceiling is not the same as your UK allowance

The currently tracked catalogue, checked on 20 October 2026, included smaller 5GB and 10GB plans, intermediate 50GB and 75GB plans, larger 100GB–200GB plans and an unlimited option. These are dated examples of the tracked range, not promises of ongoing availability or price. The cards show DealPriceCheck's last-checked offers; the provider's checkout controls what can actually be bought. Open Full plan details to examine the recorded terms; use View Deal to confirm the final provider offer.

For a practical decision, aim for enough data to cover your busiest representative month, not the largest figure on the page. If you consistently use less than 5GB, compare the smallest current allowance first. If you use around 40GB, a 50GB bundle may be a more sensible starting point than 100GB — but a larger one might still win if its current price and conditions are better. These are illustrations of matching allowances to usage, not guaranteed best-buy rankings.

What are you buying: classic PAYG, a Boost, or an annual plan?

The name “1pMobile” does not mean every product charges 1p per unit. Three product types have different payment and cancellation implications.

Classic PAYG: pay by the minute, text and megabyte

Under its classic tariff, 1pMobile currently publishes 1p per standard UK call minute, 1p per text and 1p per MB of data. Those rates were checked on 20 October 2026. Special numbers, overseas calls and other chargeable services have separate rates. There is no recurring bundle allowance, but there is a minimum-spend requirement. Read the provider's classic PAYG tariff.

The data arithmetic is worth noticing: 500MB at 1p per MB is £5 before any calls or texts. If apps download updates or media over mobile data, paying by the MB can quickly cost more than a small bundle. Classic PAYG is principally a candidate for genuinely low use, not regular streaming.

Rolling Boosts: an allowance that renews every 30 days

The live cards above track selected 30-day data bundles, which 1pMobile calls Boosts. The provider's current range combines a specified UK data allowance with unlimited qualifying standard UK calls and texts. Bundle charges recur every 30 days under the applicable renewal terms; this is different from paying 1p for each MB of data already included in the allowance.

A 30-day renewal is not the same as a calendar-month bill. Twelve periods last 360 days. If you activate a renewing plan and maintain it for a full 365-day span, a thirteenth charge may fall within that span. Compare actual payment dates and your expected time on the tariff, particularly if you are weighing a rolling plan against an annual purchase. 1pMobile's 10GB plan information sets out an example of the renewal and excess-use mechanics; its advertised price can change.

One-year and family offers: different comparisons

1pMobile separately advertises one-year prepaid products and a family unlimited arrangement. They should not be presented as though they are all in the rolling-plan catalogue. Before buying one, check the total upfront or group cost, individual allowances, number of linked SIMs, renewal conditions and what happens if someone leaves the group. A discounted additional family SIM is not the price of a standalone line.

If you want the broader UK comparison between prepaid credit and subscription-style SIMs, use our PAYG vs SIM-only guide. This page's job is to help you choose 1pMobile's own current deals.

The £10 PAYG rule: why your joining date matters

New classic PAYG customers joining from 1 August 2026 must spend or use at least £10 every 90 days under 1pMobile's published terms. This rule applies to pure PAYG when there is no active Boost; customers paying for a rolling Boost meet that product's separate renewal charges. It is not just a reminder to top up now and again. If qualifying PAYG usage is below £10 in the period, the provider says the shortfall is deducted from the remaining credit. This can make a rarely used backup SIM more expensive to maintain than the per-unit rates suggest.

1pMobile's terms updated 24 July 2026 distinguish three joining cohorts:

Customer joinedPublished PAYG commitment periodMinimum spend/use per period
1 August 2026 onwards90 days£10
15 October 2025–31 July 2026120 days£10
Before 15 October 202560 days£10

These are the provider's dated terms, checked again on 20 October 2026; they may change. Once a paid Boost ends, the terms say the service reverts to PAYG, with a new commitment period beginning after the Boost ends. Do not assume that cancelling a bundle lets you park the number indefinitely without any requirement.

What does the minimum actually cost?

These worked examples use the published classic PAYG 1p rates and the 90-day rule for someone joining now. They are calculations, not live products or forecasts. They assume standard chargeable UK minutes and texts, an adequately funded account and no other usage or services.

Example total usage across 90 daysUsage cost at 1p per unitShortfall deducted to meet minimumTotal credit used
100 minutes + 100 texts + 100MB£3£7£10
100 minutes + 100 texts + 500MB£7£3£10
100 minutes + 100 texts + 1,500MB£17£0£17

Practical conclusion: with very low use, classic PAYG may still beat paying for three successive 30-day bundles. As data use grows, the 1p-per-MB charge can make a suitable bundle more economical. To compare properly, add your expected minute, text and data usage for the same 90-day period, apply the minimum, and compare that result with the actual number of bundle renewals and their prevailing prices.

The minimum adjustment comes from credit, not a fictional extra monthly fee. The terms describe automatic attempts to collect a top-up when credit is insufficient and possible suspension or disconnection if payment is not made. That makes it important to monitor a spare SIM's balance and commitment date even when you hardly use it.

Four checks that reveal the real cost of a 1pMobile bundle

The advertised 30-day price covers the bundle's stated benefits. It is not necessarily a cap on all possible charges.

  1. When does it renew? Note the 30-day billing date and any promotional period. Some introductory offers have conditions tied to the first three auto-renewals; 1pMobile's terms say certain introductory prices can be lost when auto-renewal is cancelled or fails early. Apply that warning only to an offer that actually has such a condition.
  2. What happens when data runs out? The examined 30-day plan states that excess data costs 1p per MB from usage credit, or you can purchase an additional data Boost. Check the exact current tariff rather than assuming every plan simply stops working at its cap.
  3. Is the usage-credit balance separate? Yes, the examined product describes an additional £10 automatic top-up when the usage-credit balance falls below £2. That is a separate payment mechanism from the recurring Boost charge. Look at the exact product's account and top-up settings before enabling chargeable extra use.
  4. Will the price always stay the same? 1pMobile markets its rolling bundles without built-in inflation-linked annual rises. Its general terms still permit changes with notice, and temporary offers can have an end date. No scheduled April rise does not mean a lifetime price guarantee.

If you use only what the bundle includes, most of these complications will not affect you. If you often call abroad, send messages to chargeable numbers or let data run beyond the allowance, they can be the difference between a good deal and an unexpected payment. The provider's current plan description documents the distinct balance and renewal mechanisms.

How much EU roaming do 1pMobile deals include?

1pMobile advertises roaming in 46 European destinations, subject to eligible countries and its fair-use rules. Its published terms set a 14GB roam-like-at-home data cap per Boost, with usage above the cap charged at its stated PAYG rate of 1p/MB. The UK allowance and roaming ceiling are not interchangeable:

The provider also has a long-stay fair-use policy, so an extended period abroad is a different scenario from a holiday. If your phone will stream video, upload photos or tether a laptop overseas, check the destination, remaining data and overage cost before travelling.

Calling an international number from the UK is a separate issue. The provider says its Boosts do not include a general international-calling allowance; those calls can require chargeable credit. See 1pMobile's international and roaming information. For a choice driven mainly by travel, compare UK SIMs with EU roaming across networks.

Does 1pMobile give you the same service as EE?

1pMobile uses EE's mobile infrastructure but is not the same retail product as EE. EE-based coverage is an important reason to consider it; identical speeds, features and perks should not be assumed.

1pMobile currently advertises 4G and 5G, Wi-Fi Calling, VoLTE/4G Calling, phone tethering and physical SIM and eSIM options. Before deciding, translate those claims into checks for your own situation:

What mattersWhat to confirm
Signal at home and workEnter real locations in the 1pMobile coverage checker. A prediction is not a guarantee of indoor reception.
5G and download speedYour phone and location must support 5G. The provider's claim of no standard speed cap is not a guarantee of uncongested or EE-identical performance.
Indoor callsConfirm Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling support on the exact handset, firmware and account.
eSIM activationCheck that your selected product and unlocked device qualify. 1pMobile's eSIM information confirms the option, but the provider's general support does not establish that every offer card's eSIM field has been verified.
Hotspot usePhone tethering is advertised, but shared-device traffic still counts towards the allowance and use rules.

Unlimited UK data has a separate fair-use condition. The official terms regard usage above 500GB during a 30-day period as potentially non-personal, with possible restrictions including reduced speeds. That matters if your plan is to replace home broadband or run several devices continuously. Compare dedicated unlimited SIM deals if this is your main use case.

If you want to compare 1pMobile with other retailers on EE's infrastructure, visit our EE-network SIM comparison. It has a different purpose from this provider-specific page.

When should you look beyond 1pMobile?

1pMobile deserves consideration, but there are clear cases where another option may suit you better:

These are use cases, not a fixed ranking. The actual offer, your intended use and local reception determine the better purchase.

Before buying: a short 1pMobile switching checklist

  1. Check EE-based coverage at your postcode, workplace and regular travel locations. Test actual indoor reception if possible.
  2. Read your recent usage, then shortlist a bundle that comfortably covers your busiest representative period. If considering classic PAYG, apply the current minimum-spend rule.
  3. Confirm the payment mechanics: 30-day renewal, later promotional price, excess data, separate credit, automatic top-up and applicable restrictions.
  4. Confirm the SIM format: physical SIM or supported eSIM, and an unlocked compatible handset.
  5. Keep your existing number if needed. Ofcom's current switching guidance says to text PAC to 65075 from your existing mobile service and give the code to the new provider. Check outstanding contract charges, and do not disconnect the old number before the transfer.

When a tracked plan passes those checks, open Full plan details in the live catalogue above. Then use its existing View Deal link to confirm the provider's final terms and purchase. 1pMobile SIM deals: FAQs

Does 1pMobile use the EE network?

Yes. 1pMobile uses EE's underlying UK network. Local coverage, congestion, devices and account features can still affect the experience. It is not identical to buying an EE-branded tariff.

Is 1pMobile really 1p per minute, text and MB?

On classic PAYG, yes for the published qualifying standard UK usage rates checked on 20 October 2026. A 30-day Boost instead includes an allowance for a recurring payment. International calls and other chargeable services can have different rates.

Does 1pMobile require a minimum top-up or spend?

Classic PAYG has a minimum-spend obligation. Under terms checked on 20 October 2026, someone joining from 1 August 2026 must spend/use at least £10 every 90 days. Earlier joining cohorts have different periods. A 30-day Boost has its own renewal-payment conditions; do not mistake the PAYG minimum for a universal monthly charge.

Will a 1pMobile 30-day bundle rise in price each April?

The provider currently markets its rolling deals without a built-in annual inflation-linked increase. That is not a promise of a permanently fixed tariff: prices may change under the provider's general terms and promotional offers may expire.

Is EU roaming unlimited on a 1pMobile unlimited SIM?

No. The currently published roaming policy imposes a 14GB data cap per Boost under the relevant roam-like-at-home conditions. Check your destination, remaining eligible allowance, long-stay rules and out-of-bundle charges.

Can I get a 1pMobile eSIM and Wi-Fi Calling?

1pMobile advertises both, subject to eligible products, supported handsets and activation conditions. Confirm your exact device and chosen plan before moving your number.

Can I leave a 1pMobile bundle after 30 days?

The current rolling Boosts do not require a long minimum contract, but they renew automatically every 30 days unless managed under the applicable terms. Check how and when to cancel auto-renewal; if you retain the SIM without a Boost, the provider's PAYG rules may then apply.

Provider terms rechecked 20 October 2026. The existing DealPriceCheck offer cards displayed their own last-checked date of 20 October 2026 when reviewed. Prices, available bundles, roaming rules and payment conditions can change. DealPriceCheck shows selected UK deals rather than the entire market.
