EE SIM-only deals
Compare selected EE SIM-only plans by data allowance, contract length and overall cost. EE's own tariffs range from straightforward, speed-limited options to premium plans with additional benefits. Use the live deals below to shortlist suitable offers, then check price increases, roaming and the features of the exact plan. If EE coverage matters more than the EE brand, compare other providers using its network too.

EE SIM-only deals: the quick answer
An EE-branded SIM is worth considering if you want EE as your provider and will use the benefits included in your chosen tariff. It is not necessarily the best-value way to get coverage from EE's underlying network.
The first decision is whether you need EE itself or simply want a SIM that operates on the EE network.
| Your priority | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Buy directly from EE and access eligible EE plan benefits | Compare the EE-branded deals above |
| Keep EE-based coverage while considering flexible alternatives | Explore 1pMobile SIM-only deals |
| Compare EE-network plans with possible international-calling options, eSIM or introductory offers | Explore Lyca Mobile SIM-only deals |
| See several providers using EE's network together | Use the EE-network SIM comparison |
These are starting points, not permanent rankings. The right choice depends on the current tariff's full cost, speed policy, commitment and the features you will actually use.
How to choose an EE SIM-only plan
Start with three questions:
- How much data do you really use? Check your last three complete billing periods. If most of your usage is on home or work Wi-Fi, a smaller allowance may be sufficient. Regular mobile streaming or laptop tethering may justify more.
- How long are you willing to commit? EE markets both 24-month and flexible 30-day pay-monthly options. A lower starting monthly charge on a longer contract is not automatically a lower total cost.
- Which plan benefits matter to you? Speed limits, included roaming, 5G+ eligibility and subscription benefits can differ even when two plans have the same data allowance.
A useful test: if a more expensive plan costs an additional £6 per month, that is £72 over 12 months before any other price changes. Ask whether you would genuinely pay £72 for the extra speed or benefits. If not, compare a lower EE tier or an EE-network alternative.
For help weighing commitment against flexibility, see our 30-day versus 12-month unlimited SIM comparison.
EE plan tiers: what are you actually paying for?
EE's plan names describe more than data allowance. They can indicate maximum speeds, included roaming, access to network features and additional services.
The table below summarises selected EE SIM-only plan families, based on EE's published short terms, checked on 20 October 2026. EE also offers other variants, so confirm the exact product name rather than treating this as its complete tariff range.
| EE plan | Published speed position | Main distinction |
|---|---|---|
| No Frills SIM | Capped at 10Mbps | Lower-tier option with Data Gifting and Stay Connected Data |
| Essentials SIM | Capped at 100Mbps | Higher speed ceiling than No Frills, with selected basic benefits |
| Essentials Unlimited Plus SIM | Capped at 100Mbps | Unlimited UK data with eligible EU roaming and watch-data benefits |
| All Rounder SIM | Uncapped plan speeds | Additional benefits, including eligible 5G+, Network Boost, EU roaming and an Inclusive Extra |
| Full Works SIM | Uncapped plan speeds | Higher-tier benefits with eligible EU and Rest of World Zone 1 roaming and an Inclusive Extra |
Uncapped plan speeds do not guarantee a particular download speed. Coverage, network demand, device compatibility and feature eligibility still affect performance.
Is 10Mbps enough?
For email, messaging, music streaming, navigation and ordinary browsing, a 10Mbps maximum may be perfectly workable. It leaves less headroom for large downloads, high-quality streaming, tethering several devices or demanding simultaneous use.
A 100Mbps ceiling will generally be less restrictive, but paying for uncapped speeds is not automatically worthwhile if your normal connection rarely reaches 100Mbps.
If speed is central to your decision, our UK SIM speed caps guide explains the difference between 10Mbps, 100Mbps and uncapped tariffs.
Are higher EE tiers always better value?
Not necessarily. Higher tiers can include useful benefits, but you need to value them at their actual cost to you.
For example, an included entertainment subscription only saves you money if it replaces something you would otherwise pay for. A roaming benefit has little value if you never travel to eligible destinations.
Also distinguish a feature being included in a plan from it being available on your particular phone. EE's 5G+ features have plan, device and coverage requirements.
EE 30-day SIMs: pay monthly, PAYG and Saver Plans are different
A 30-day description does not identify one single EE product type.
30-day pay-monthly SIM-only: EE advertises flexible pay-monthly options alongside longer contracts. Check the exact billing arrangement, notice and speed tier.
30-day pay-as-you-go plan: This is a prepaid product without a long-term pay-monthly commitment. EE's terms dated 13 May 2026 state that new 30-day PAYG plans have a 25Mbps speed cap. That limit should not be applied automatically to EE's separate pay-monthly plans.
Saver Plan: EE also offers a PAYG Saver arrangement that renews automatically through registered card payments and provides a qualifying discount. It is not simply another name for every 30-day EE SIM.
EE sets out the differences in its PAYG plan guidance.
If you see a specialised product such as a Guided Plan, inspect its specific usage and parental-control conditions as well. A specialised 30-day tariff should not be assumed to work exactly like a standard unrestricted SIM-only plan.
Before buying: open the relevant deal's full details and confirm whether it is pay monthly, prepaid PAYG or another EE product. Compare its renewal mechanism and restrictions, not just the number of days shown.
What does an EE SIM-only contract really cost?
For a longer EE agreement, the starting monthly price is only part of the calculation.
Compare:
- The monthly charge when the contract begins.
- Any upfront payment.
- The minimum contract length.
- Each scheduled increase during that term.
- Any discount that ends before the agreement finishes.
How EE's annual price increases work
Under EE's published annual price-change guidance, mobile SIM-only agreements taken out from 31 July 2025 fall into a group with a stated £2.50 annual increase, normally applied on 31 March during the minimum term.
This is a dated description of EE's published terms, not a claim that every historic contract or future product has identical conditions.
A simple illustration shows why timing matters:
If an increase adds £2.50 to each of 12 remaining monthly bills, it adds £30 over those 12 bills.
If a 24-month agreement includes more than one annual increase, calculate the months affected by each increase separately. Later increases can build on the amount already being paid.
The useful comparison is the total you expect to pay over your intended period, not just the amount displayed most prominently in an advertisement.
Also check whether you already qualify for any EE broadband-and-mobile benefits, such as an eligible EE One saving. Compare the final payable amount after the relevant conditions rather than assuming the advertised discount applies to everyone.
Are EE unlimited SIM-only plans really unlimited?
EE sells unlimited UK data plans, but unlimited data and unlimited speed are different things.
A No Frills unlimited tariff can still have a 10Mbps speed limit. A higher-tier unlimited product may allow uncapped plan speeds and extra services. Two tariffs labelled Unlimited can therefore feel quite different in everyday use.
EE's published unlimited-plan terms also distinguish unlimited ordinary personal use from unusually heavy use. They say usage above 600GB per month may be considered non-personal, allowing EE to apply traffic-management measures or move the customer to an appropriate business plan. This is not a simple 600GB hard stop on every unlimited SIM.
For most buyers, the more useful questions are:
- Does the plan have a speed cap?
- Will you regularly tether a laptop or another device?
- Is the agreement flexible or long-term?
- Does the stated price change during the minimum term?
- What data allowance applies when you travel abroad?

Coverage, eSIM and features: four checks before ordering
1. Check the places where you actually use your phone
A nationwide coverage claim cannot tell you what reception will be like inside your home, workplace or usual train route.
Use EE's official postcode coverage checker. Check indoor and outdoor coverage where available, and remember that the result is a prediction rather than a guarantee for every building.
If you already know that EE's network works well for you, that is a useful reason to compare the providers sharing its infrastructure. It does not establish that all those providers offer identical service characteristics.
2. Check eSIM support on the exact plan
An eSIM lets a compatible phone activate mobile service digitally rather than using a physical SIM card.
Do not assume that every EE tariff or every EE-network provider offers the same activation process. Confirm the phone model, the intended tariff and any switching requirements. Our UK eSIM deals page offers a wider comparison.
3. Check Wi-Fi Calling and 5G+ eligibility
Wi-Fi Calling can be valuable in buildings with poor mobile reception, provided the device, tariff and service are compatible.
Likewise, access to EE's advanced 5G+ features is not established merely because a deal card says 5G. The right plan, compatible phone and network availability all matter.
4. Check hotspot use
If your main reason for buying a large allowance is tethering a laptop, consider your typical daily data use and the plan's permitted usage. A large allowance does not improve a weak local signal, and an unlimited data label does not remove every fair-use condition.
EE roaming: do not confuse UK unlimited data with overseas usage
Roaming is one of the clearest reasons to compare EE's plan tiers carefully.
EE's published terms distinguish plans without inclusive EU roaming from selected tariffs that include it. Eligible All Rounder and Full Works products have different destination benefits.
For applicable tariffs, EE states a 50GB fair-use limit for data outside the UK, with charges and conditions depending on the plan and destination.
Three details matter before a trip:
- Destination: EU roaming and wider international roaming are not the same benefit.
- Allowance: unlimited UK data does not mean unlimited data abroad.
- Plan eligibility: a benefit associated with one EE tier should not be assumed to apply to another.
Check your destination and the precise plan's conditions before departure. If travel is a major buying factor, compare eligible alternatives using our UK SIMs for EU roaming guide.
EE or another SIM provider on the EE network?
This is the most important commercial distinction on this page.
Buying from EE directly is not the same as buying from a company that uses EE's underlying mobile infrastructure. The network relationship can be similar while the actual contract, customer service, speeds, roaming, billing and supported features differ.
Choose EE direct when its extras justify the cost
EE itself is the natural starting point if you need a particular EE-branded plan, qualifying premium features, an existing-account benefit or direct EE customer support.
Compare the selected EE cards above, including their total cost and contract length.
Consider 1pMobile for a flexible EE-network alternative
1pMobile SIM-only deals are worth comparing when you want EE-based coverage and a straightforward data bundle without automatically committing to a long EE pay-monthly agreement.
1pMobile also offers different payment models, including traditional PAYG credit and recurring bundles. Do not treat these as identical products: check renewal, roaming and out-of-bundle charges.
The DealPriceCheck page shows the currently tracked offers and their existing View Deal routes.
Consider Lyca Mobile when its particular tariff suits your usage
Lyca Mobile SIM-only deals are another EE-network option, with selected plans offering eSIM, international-calling features or promotional pricing.
The key word is selected. A promotional first payment is not necessarily the ongoing price, and an international-calling allowance must include the country and number type you intend to call.
Compare the total cost over your intended usage period and check the conditions on the exact offer before buying.
What about spusu?
spusu SIM-only deals provide another way to compare rolling EE-network options, including plan-specific eSIM and overseas-use features.
An EE-based signal does not guarantee that spusu, Lyca Mobile, 1pMobile and EE supply identical speeds, Wi-Fi Calling support, roaming arrangements or premium network benefits.
Best next step: if the EE brand itself is not essential, use the EE-network comparison to compare the selected providers together. It keeps the buying journey within DealPriceCheck and links to the existing deal cards.
Switching to an EE SIM-only deal
Switching is normally straightforward, but check any remaining commitment with your current provider first.
If you want to keep your number:
- Text PAC to 65075 from your current UK mobile number.
- Give the code to your new provider.
- Follow the new provider's instructions for activation and number transfer.
If you do not want to keep the number: text STAC to 75075 instead.
You can text INFO to 85075 to check information about your current agreement. Ofcom explains these processes in its official mobile switching guidance.
Before changing networks, check early termination charges, device compatibility and whether you need a physical SIM or eSIM. Avoid separately cancelling your existing service in a way that disrupts a number transfer.
Frequently asked questions
Are EE SIM-only deals available on a 30-day contract?
EE advertises flexible 30-day pay-monthly SIM-only products, alongside longer agreements. It also sells separate 30-day PAYG products and Saver Plans. Check which product type you are choosing because payment, renewal and speed conditions can differ.
Is EE SIM-only always faster than 1pMobile or Lyca Mobile?
No universal answer is justified. EE's own speed limits vary between plan tiers, while other providers have their own service conditions. Performance also depends on location, device and network load. Compare the exact products rather than relying on the shared network name.
Do all EE SIM-only deals include EU roaming?
No. EE's published plan families provide different roaming benefits. Confirm the destinations, charges and applicable data limit of your chosen tariff.
Can I get unlimited data on EE without unlimited speed?
Yes. EE's No Frills plan family can have unlimited UK data while restricting maximum speeds to 10Mbps. Higher-tier products can have different speed limits and benefits.
Should I buy EE directly or choose an EE-network alternative?
Buy direct when you need EE's particular account features, eligible extras or service arrangements and the overall price makes sense. If maintaining access to EE's underlying network is your main goal, compare 1pMobile, Lyca Mobile and the wider EE-network offers before deciding.
