Lyca Mobile vs O2: Which SIM-Only Deal Is Better?
Short answer: Choose Lyca Mobile if EE reception is stronger where you use your phone, its 30-day bundle costs less for your needs, or the overseas numbers you call are included. Choose O2 if its own network is better locally, you need up to 25GB of eligible Europe Zone roaming, or you value its plan-specific benefits. Both providers' published 30GB products include 100 international minutes on eligible calls, but the destinations and conditions differ; O2's qualifying Pay As You Go Rolling Plan also offers next-month data rollover. Compare the exact product rather than assuming Lyca always wins for calls abroad.
- Pick Lyca Mobile if: EE works well at your important addresses, you prefer a prepaid 30-day bundle, or National Plus includes the destinations you call.
- Pick O2 if: O2 reception is better, your European trips require more included data, or its specific Rolling Plan international minutes, rollover or eligible extras add meaningful value.

Lyca Mobile vs O2 at a glance
The main decision is coverage, total cost, eligible calls abroad, European roaming and whether you will use O2's plan-specific extras.
| What you are comparing | Lyca Mobile | O2 | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| UK network | EE, via a wholesale arrangement | O2's own mobile network | Check indoor and outdoor signal at your postcode |
| Main buying route | Prepaid 30-day bundles, plus separate longer-term offers | Pay As You Go Rolling Plans and separate longer-term Pay Monthly contracts | Payment model and commitment differ |
| 5G | On eligible plans and handsets | On eligible plans and handsets | Local coverage and phone compatibility count for more than a 5G label |
| UK minutes and texts | Vary by bundle; some smaller plans have finite allowances | Usually unlimited on standard selected SIM-only tariffs | Check the exact deal, including special-number exclusions |
| International calls from the UK | National Plus 30GB advertises 100 eligible minutes; other bundles vary | The qualifying O2 30GB Rolling Plan publishes 100 eligible minutes to 42 countries; other tariffs vary | Check the two destination lists and number types, not just the headline 100 |
| Standard European roaming | Common capped-data maximum of 12GB; eligible unlimited products can reach 35GB | Up to the smaller of your UK allowance and 25GB in the Europe Zone | Lyca's roaming policy excludes mobile tethering/data sharing |
| India roaming | Included on some named Lyca bundles | Not part of standard O2 Europe Zone roaming | Check the exact product and country |
| eSIM | On qualifying UK mobile products | On eligible consumer plans | Verify the plan and your exact phone |
| Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling | On supported products and devices | On supported products and devices | Older and imported phones need a check |
| Notable extras | International minutes on selected bundles | O2 Rolling Plan data rollover, qualifying international minutes, Priority; Volt on eligible Pay Monthly | Not every perk applies to every O2 product |
| Current deal cards | Lyca offers | O2 offers | Open Full plan details before clicking View Deal |
Both have useful offers. The biggest mistake is assuming that all O2 plans lack international minutes or that every O2 30-day product qualifies for Pay Monthly benefits such as Volt.
Do Lyca Mobile and O2 use the same network?
No. Lyca Mobile uses EE's UK network, and O2 operates its own. Older articles that describe Lyca as an O2-network provider refer to a previous wholesale arrangement that no longer applies.
The difference has a practical effect. If EE gives you a good signal in your bedroom, at work and on a rural commute, Lyca Mobile is a natural fit. If O2 holds up in those places but EE drops indoors, a bigger data allowance on Lyca won't solve the problem.
Using EE infrastructure doesn't give Lyca every EE retail feature, identical traffic handling or a guaranteed share of EE's headline 5G speeds. Likewise, owning its network doesn't make O2 faster or more reliable at your particular address.
How do you check Lyca vs O2 coverage before buying?
- Enter your home postcode in Ofcom's Map Your Mobile and compare EE with O2. Look at predicted indoor 4G as well as outdoor 5G.
- Repeat the check for your workplace, your usual travel route, relatives you visit often and any rural area where you rely on calls.
- Look up your phone in the operator's compatibility guidance if you need Wi-Fi Calling or 4G Calling (VoLTE), especially after the 3G switch-offs.
- If the number matters for banking or work, test the new physical SIM or eSIM on a temporary number first. Make and receive calls, try a verification text and run a data check during a busy evening.
Ofcom's results are predictions, not guarantees for a particular wall, basement or train carriage. Our MVNO coverage and speeds guide explains why two providers on the same host network can still feel different in use.
Lyca Mobile vs O2 price: which is cheaper for SIM only?
Lyca Mobile can be cheaper for a comparable allowance, but not on every plan and not permanently. A fair comparison matches the amount of usable data, the UK calling allowance and the length of commitment, then adds international calls, roaming, later price changes and any extra you would really use.
Lyca offers 30-day prepaid bundles and separate longer-term products. O2 has both Pay As You Go Rolling Plans, funded by a recurring card payment, and separate Pay Monthly contracts with longer minimum terms. The O2 30GB Rolling Plan in our catalogue belongs to the rolling-plan family, not a standard 24-month contract. That distinction affects included international calls, rollover, credit checks and eligibility for Volt.
Lyca vs O2 SIM only: a 30GB plan against a 30GB plan
DealPriceCheck lists two specific starting points: Lyca National Plus, 30GB for 30 days and O2's 30GB PAYG Rolling Plan. Each catalogue card records 30GB of UK data, but a retailer's offer, introductory price or boosted allowance can differ at the final provider checkout. Compare the product names and terms, not merely two cards marked 30GB.
| What matters on these two cards | Lyca National Plus | O2 30GB rolling plan |
|---|---|---|
| Recorded UK data | 30GB | 30GB |
| Arrangement | Prepaid, 30-day bundle | O2 Pay As You Go Rolling Plan, recurring monthly payment |
| UK calls and texts | Unlimited on this listed product | Unlimited on this listed product |
| Included European data | Up to 12GB | Up to 25GB in the Europe Zone |
| International calls from the UK | National Plus officially advertises 100 minutes to selected destinations, subject to number-type rules | O2's standard 30GB Rolling Plan terms specify 100 minutes to 42 eligible countries; confirm the exact checkout |
| Network | EE | O2 |
| Data rollover | Not shown as a benefit of the National Plus product | Qualifying O2 Rolling Plans carry unused data into the next month, capped at one standard allowance; it expires if renewal fails or the tariff changes |
| Other destination-specific data | This Lyca card records China up to 500MB; check the provider's final allowance | India/China are outside the standard O2 Europe Zone; check any extra travel product |
| Reasons to choose it | EE reception, suitable overseas minutes and total cost | Local O2 signal, European allowance, possible eligible international minutes and rollover |
| Live offer | Full Lyca deal details | Full O2 deal details |
Before buying: the DealPriceCheck O2 card records data and roaming but does not separately list the 100 international minutes or rollover. O2's official Rolling Plan terms establish those features for its qualifying standard 30GB Rolling Plan. Lyca's National Plus product separately advertises 100 international minutes. Compare the eligible country and number-type lists and confirm that each benefit applies to the precise offer at checkout. O2 occasionally boosts plan data through time-limited promotions, so the advertised amount may differ from the standard 30GB tariff; do not assume a promotional boost lasts for the whole period.
For a smaller data need, use the Lyca catalogue and the O2 catalogue to find the nearest adequate allowance. A low price per gigabyte on 30GB is no bargain if you use 3GB.
How do you compare the full cost over a year?
Count real renewal dates over the same period. Twelve 30-day Lyca renewals cover 360 days, not 365. O2's PAYG Rolling Plans renew monthly; separate fixed-term Pay Monthly contracts also run on calendar months, but may have different contractual liabilities. Record the first and later charges, any paid extras, the effect of rollover and any price rises that actually apply to the chosen product.
Illustrative arithmetic, not live Lyca or O2 prices: a £9 renewal over six periods totals £54, and a £12 renewal over six periods totals £72. If the £9 plan also needs £5 of overseas calls each period and the £12 plan already includes them, the totals become £84 against £72. If you never make those calls, the £9 plan wins. Your own usage decides it, not the advertised price.
Do O2 SIM-only prices rise during a contract?
Some O2 Pay Monthly fixed-term contracts have scheduled April price rises, with the amount specified in the contract. Do not apply that schedule automatically to the PAYG 30GB Rolling Plan shown in our comparison. O2's Rolling Plan terms allow price or allowance changes with notice, which is a different issue from an agreed fixed-term annual increase. Check the exact agreement and total cost.
For a longer O2 deal, add up the total payments through the minimum term, including scheduled rises. A tariff that starts shortly before an April adjustment can see its first higher bill early in the commitment. Lyca advertises no annual rises on relevant prepaid products, but the price after any promotion, and the terms of any longer-term Lyca package, still need checking.
Our SIM-only price rises guide covers the general rules.
Lyca Mobile vs O2 roaming: which is better in Europe?
O2 is the stronger starting point when you need 13–25GB of included data on a qualifying European trip. It includes eligible Europe Zone roaming on both Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go phone plans, subject to your home allowance. Lyca's ordinary capped-data bundles generally have a 12GB fair-use ceiling, while specific unlimited products can advertise up to 35GB. Neither automatically wins for all countries or all uses: Lyca's EU roaming rules exclude tethering.
How much of your UK data can you use abroad?
O2's standard Europe Zone rule is the smaller of your UK monthly allowance and 25GB. A 10GB O2 rolling SIM does not give 25GB abroad, even though our card shows a general "25GB EU roaming" maximum. A 30GB O2 plan can generally use up to 25GB of its UK allowance in eligible Europe Zone destinations.
Lyca's published policy for its UK national plans gives most capped-data bundles a maximum of 12GB of included EU data. Certain named unlimited packages have a published 35GB ceiling. A plan with only 5GB at home cannot stretch to 12GB or 35GB abroad. Some products also advertise roaming in India or China, but not across the whole range.
| Buyer example | Lyca Mobile: what to verify | O2: standard Europe Zone position |
|---|---|---|
| 5GB UK bundle | Home allowance and the plan's own roaming allocation | No more than the 5GB home allowance |
| 10GB UK plan | Exact included data on that Lyca tariff | No more than 10GB |
| 30GB UK plan | National Plus is currently described with up to 12GB EU data | Up to 25GB on the selected eligible 30GB plan |
| Qualifying unlimited plan | Some Lyca unlimited products specify up to 35GB EU roaming | Standard Europe Zone limit of 25GB |
| Travel outside the European scheme | Product-specific countries, data and charges | O2 Travel Inclusive Zone, travel Bolt Ons and the exact destination |
These are ceilings, not extra data added to the UK plan. Once the included amount is used, the next step depends on the operator and product. O2's published Europe Zone policy normally requires a data Bolt On at the limit; check any extra charges on other arrangements. Both providers restrict prolonged or abusive roaming.
Critical difference for laptop users: Lyca's official EU Roaming policy expressly lists mobile data sharing or tethering as unavailable under its EU roaming services. Do not rely on a Lyca roaming bundle to hotspot a laptop or tablet abroad. If you need to work online while travelling, check O2's applicable tethering and roaming terms for your device and destination, or choose a suitable separate travel connection. This is different from ordinary tethering inside the UK.
Does Lyca include India or China roaming when O2 does not?
Some named Lyca plans do, notably the eligible UK Plan Unlimited card that records up to 35GB of EU and India roaming and 5GB for China. The separate National Plus 30GB card records up to 500MB for China but does not establish the same India allowance. These are named-product details, not universal benefits. Confirm the permitted destinations and rules on the exact purchase.
O2's Europe Zone is not a worldwide roaming pass. India and China sit outside the standard allowance. Some O2 Plus, Ultimate or eligible Volt arrangements include an expanded travel zone, and other plans need a paid travel product. Check your destination and any high-speed data limits before treating these extras as equal to a named Lyca roaming package.
Are Switzerland, the Channel Islands and Turkey covered?
O2's published Europe Zone includes Switzerland and the Channel Islands. Turkey is outside it. Lyca's standard EU Roaming Zone has its own destination list. Cruise ships, ferries and satellite connections can be charged differently even near European coasts, so look up the exact country or network before you leave.
For wider options, see our Best SIMs for EU roaming guide. A roaming add-on or travel eSIM can be cheaper than switching provider if you only need it for one trip.
Lyca Mobile vs O2 for international calls: which is better?
On the two named 30GB products, both providers publish an international-calling allowance. Lyca National Plus advertises 100 international minutes to selected destinations, while O2's qualifying 30GB PAYG Rolling Plan terms list 100 minutes to 42 countries. The country lists and eligible number types are not necessarily identical. The better plan depends on where you call, not which provider prints a larger number. Other Lyca and O2 products have different allowances.
"100 international minutes" means little without a destination list. On the eligible O2 Rolling Plan, the published 42-country benefit excludes certain territories and number types; calls using the allowance are billed by whole minutes. Lyca likewise restricts qualifying mobile versus landline destinations, and its National Plus 100-minute allowance is not worldwide. Check both destination lists and any overage rates. Neither operator's normal unlimited UK calls means worldwide calls are unlimited.
Which costs less if you call family abroad every week?
Run a four-step test:
- Identify the destination and the type of number (mobile or landline).
- Estimate your monthly minutes.
- Check both the precise Lyca bundle's international minutes and any included minutes on the chosen O2 Rolling Plan.
- Compare the costs above those allowances, any non-covered number types and total plan renewal cost.
Illustrative decision: you make 90 minutes of calls each month to one overseas mobile number. If that exact number is eligible for both 100-minute allowances, neither plan needs an extra calling purchase for those minutes; compare the SIM cost, reception and roaming instead. If only one operator covers the destination or mobile number type, calculate the other's real rate. This is a use-case calculation, not a claim that all 90-minute calls qualify.
If you use WhatsApp, Signal or FaceTime Audio over Wi-Fi instead of dialling international phone numbers, neither allowance may matter. App-to-app calls need data or Wi-Fi, and any mobile data used abroad remains subject to the roaming policy.
Our international calling SIM guide helps you compare destinations. Then use Lyca's plan cards to choose a bundle with the right UK and international allowances.
What do you get with O2 Priority, Volt and other extras?
O2 can justify a higher SIM cost if you qualify for benefits you will use. None of its extras should count as a cash saving until you've checked eligibility, the specific product and what the benefit is worth to you.
Is O2 Priority worth it?
Priority gives eligible O2 customers changing offers, prize draws, experiences and event presales. O2 says Pay As You Go customers are eligible as well as Pay Monthly customers. It matters if you regularly use a particular offer or want access to ticket presales. A presale is not a guaranteed ticket, and a one-off discount shouldn't be valued at its headline amount if you wouldn't otherwise have bought the item.
If you never use the rewards, put £0 against Priority. If a reward replaces something you would definitely buy, count only the saving you realistically expect.
Can Volt double your O2 data with Virgin Media broadband?
Potentially. Eligible Virgin Media broadband households with O2 Pay Monthly mobile service can receive a Volt data boost, plus other benefits under O2's rules. The O2 30GB PAYG Rolling Plan in our comparison should not be sold as Volt-eligible merely because it renews monthly. Eligibility is based on the actual product and household account, and a UK data boost does not remove the standard Europe Zone 25GB cap.
Check whether your household already qualifies before comparing a discounted Lyca bundle with an O2 offer. Doubled data on an eligible O2 plan might remove the need for a bigger tariff. A 30-day rolling listing, or an address you haven't confirmed, may not qualify just because someone in the household has broadband.
Are O2 Plus and Ultimate SIMs automatically better?
No. O2 Plus and Ultimate offer tariff-dependent extras, but the O2 PAYG Rolling Plan already has its own rollover rules, independently of any Plus or Ultimate tier. Under O2's Rolling Plan terms, up to one standard monthly allowance of unused data can move into the next month when renewal is on time; it cannot accumulate indefinitely and is lost if the plan changes or renewal fails. Paid entertainment perks and enlarged roaming zones are separate product decisions.
If you're buying SIM only, ignore benefits tied to phone finance, trade-in or device insurance unless the SIM product itself includes them. Compare O2's selected offers on our O2 page rather than paying for a tier because of its name.
Lyca vs O2 5G, 4G and data speeds: which is faster?
Neither can honestly be named the national speed winner from old network figures. Lyca Mobile uses EE-based access and O2 runs a separate network. Host-network measurements help explain trends, but they don't measure your Lyca plan, your phone or the train you take to work.
Many existing comparison articles lean on historic nationwide 4G speeds and counts of towns with 5G, then crown a permanent winner. Those numbers date quickly. Local 4G reception, upload reliability, latency, congestion and your phone's modem usually matter more than one peak download result.
To test fairly, use the same compatible handset in the same places at similar times, including a busy evening. Try web browsing and a video call as well as a speed test. If voice matters, confirm VoLTE works before moving a number you rely on.
Do Lyca Mobile and O2 both support Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE?
Yes. Both offer Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling on eligible phones and plans. Older comparison pages saying Lyca lacks these features are out of date. O2 also advertises 5G Calling on selected compatible devices and services, which is a separate feature from 5G data.
An unlocked phone may not support every network's calling profile. Imported and older Android phones deserve extra checking. O2 says Wi-Fi Calling doesn't work abroad, so check roaming voice compatibility before you travel. See our Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE guide for handset and network checks.
Can you get an eSIM with both Lyca Mobile and O2?
Yes, on eligible UK mobile products and supported phones. Lyca Mobile offers physical SIM and eSIM ordering for qualifying consumer products, and O2 supports eSIM on eligible plans. An eSIM label doesn't mean every older account, replacement SIM, smartwatch or Pay As You Go product follows the same activation route.
Before you order, confirm four things:
- Whether the plan supports a new eSIM or only a conversion.
- Whether your phone supports an operator eSIM profile.
- How the QR code or activation details arrive.
- Whether changing phones later involves a replacement process or fee.
If you're keeping your number, also confirm when to submit your PAC so you don't delete your old SIM too early.
A travel data-only eSIM is not a substitute for a UK SIM with a number, calls and texts. For eligibility by network, see our UK network eSIM guide and check the exact provider card.
How do contracts, credit checks and bill controls compare?
Lyca Mobile's flexible prepaid products may avoid a conventional credit assessment, and it also advertises longer-term arrangements. O2 offers Pay As You Go and rolling plans as well as Pay Monthly contracts, where eligibility and credit checks may differ. It would be wrong to say every O2 SIM needs a credit check, or that every Lyca product carries no commitment.
If you want to be able to stop after a short period, compare Lyca's relevant 30-day bundle with a suitable O2 rolling plan, including notice terms, auto-renewal and what happens to unused credit or data. If you plan to stay two years, compare the full contractual liability, price adjustments and any benefits that last the whole term.
Can either provider charge more than the advertised SIM price?
Yes. Premium and international numbers, out-of-allowance data, roaming outside the relevant zone, bolt-ons and some account services can all add cost. Prepaid and postpaid plans handle these charges differently. On Lyca, know what happens when a bundle expires or credit is left over. On O2 Pay Monthly, check out-of-plan limits, spending caps and when an optional Extra begins to charge.
For a spare line, a child's phone or light data use, look at the cost of keeping the number active rather than the price per gigabyte. Our PAYG vs SIM-only guide and spending caps guide cover those choices.
Lyca Mobile or O2: which should you choose?
Nine common situations point to different answers. Use the right-hand column for the check that could change the result.
| Your situation | Better first place to look | Check that could change the answer |
|---|---|---|
| EE is strong at home and O2 is weak indoors | Lyca Mobile | Supported phone, exact Lyca bundle, cost after promotions |
| O2 works reliably where EE struggles | O2 | Coverage before buying, price and eligibility of extras |
| You call overseas numbers every week | Compare both 30GB plans if that allowance suits you | Both publish 100 minutes; verify the exact country and mobile/landline eligibility |
| You take long European trips and need around 20GB abroad | O2 on a suitable high-data plan | UK allowance of at least 20GB, Europe Zone destination, fair use |
| You need frequent included India roaming | A qualifying Lyca product | The named tariff's India allowance and terms; not every Lyca SIM qualifies |
| You already have eligible Virgin Media broadband | Compare O2 with Volt | Household eligibility and effective total cost |
| You value Priority tickets or eligible Plus and Ultimate perks | O2 | Whether the benefit is available and worth the extra spend |
| You want 30GB without a long term | Compare both 30GB cards | EE vs O2 signal, 12GB vs 25GB EU cap, O2 rollover and qualifying overseas minutes |
| You work from a laptop while in Europe | Check O2 or another appropriate travel product | Lyca's EU roaming terms exclude tethering; verify alternative eligibility |
The two 30GB cards show why the answer depends on roaming, rollover, international minutes and local coverage, not just monthly cost. For light use, also check smaller bundles before paying for either 30GB option.

How do you switch between Lyca Mobile and O2 and keep your number?
You can normally keep your UK mobile number when moving between Lyca Mobile and O2 in either direction. Because the underlying network changes, it's worth confirming the new SIM works where you use it before you port.
- Text INFO to 85075 from your old SIM if you want contract and early-exit charge information.
- To keep your number, text PAC to 65075 and give the code to the new provider. A standard PAC is valid for 30 days.
- If you want to end the old service without moving the number, text STAC to 75075 instead.
- Let the new provider handle the transfer. A qualifying switch normally completes within one working day of the valid code being received. Don't cancel the old number separately before the port.
- Once it's done, test incoming and outgoing calls, mobile data, voicemail and security texts, and settle any outstanding charges with the old provider.
Our guide to switching and keeping your number has more detail. Porting doesn't cancel an early-termination charge you legitimately owe under an existing agreement.
Lyca Mobile vs O2: frequently asked questions
Is Lyca Mobile better than O2?
Lyca may suit you when EE reception is stronger or a qualifying bundle includes the calls you need at the better total cost. O2 may suit you when its signal is better, you need up to 25GB eligible European data, or a specific Rolling Plan's international minutes and data rollover make it better value. Volt applies only to eligible Pay Monthly products.
Is Lyca better than O2 for coverage?
Neither has a national coverage advantage that applies to every address. Lyca Mobile uses EE's network and O2 uses its own. Compare predicted indoor 4G and 5G at your home, workplace and travel routes using Ofcom's Map Your Mobile, then test a SIM before moving an important number.
Does Lyca Mobile use O2's network?
No. Lyca Mobile currently uses EE's UK network, and O2 operates its own radio network. Descriptions of Lyca as O2-based reflect a previous arrangement.
Which is cheaper, Lyca or O2 SIM only?
Neither is cheapest across every product. Match comparable data, calling needs and contract length, then factor in roaming, renewal prices, April increases where they apply and extras you value. The current DealPriceCheck cards show the recorded offers.
Does O2 include free European roaming?
Yes. Eligible O2 Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go phone tariffs include Europe Zone roaming, normally capped at the smaller of your UK plan allowance and 25GB. An O2 10GB plan can't provide 25GB of roaming data.
How much EU roaming does Lyca Mobile include?
It depends on the bundle. Eligible capped-data Lyca plans commonly have an EU fair-use ceiling of 12GB, and certain named unlimited products advertise up to 35GB. Smaller home allowances and destination rules still apply.
Is O2 or Lyca better for calling abroad from the UK?
The published Lyca National Plus 30GB product includes 100 minutes to selected countries, and O2's qualifying 30GB PAYG Rolling Plan lists 100 minutes to 42 countries. Check whether the exact mobile or landline number you dial is included on each. Other products and excess-call rates differ.
Does Lyca include roaming in India?
Some named Lyca plans do, including specific unlimited packages, but not every Lyca SIM. O2's standard Europe Zone excludes India, though O2 offers separate overseas travel options on eligible products.
Do Lyca Mobile and O2 both support eSIM and Wi-Fi Calling?
Yes. Both offer eSIM, Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling on eligible plans and compatible phones. Check the activation route, phone model and software version. O2 also has 5G Calling on selected devices.
Is Lyca faster than O2 on 5G?
There's no universal answer. Lyca Mobile uses EE infrastructure and O2 uses its own network, but real speeds depend on postcode, phone, congestion and eligible network features. A local test beats old national averages.
What is O2 Volt?
Volt is an eligibility-based offer for households with qualifying Virgin Media broadband and O2 Pay Monthly service. It can bring extra mobile data and other benefits. It isn't included with every O2 plan or every rolling SIM.
Does O2 Priority come with Pay As You Go?
Yes, O2 says eligible Pay As You Go customers can use Priority alongside Pay Monthly customers. The rewards change, so check the current offer before counting it as a saving.
Does the O2 30GB Rolling Plan include international minutes and data rollover?
O2's standard published 30GB Pay As You Go Rolling Plan terms include 100 international minutes to 42 eligible countries and next-month data rollover, subject to renewal and a one-month limit. Temporary promotions can change the advertised data amount; check the actual plan and eligibility at checkout.
Can I share Lyca's included EU roaming data with my laptop?
Lyca's published EU roaming policy lists mobile data sharing and tethering as unavailable. If hotspot use abroad matters, check another operator's eligible plan or a separate travel connection; a large UK data allowance does not override that restriction.
Can I keep my number when switching between Lyca and O2?
Normally yes. Text PAC to 65075 from the old number and give the code to the new provider. Don't cancel the old service separately before a standard port.
