Is Lebara the right SIM-only provider for you?
The short answer: Lebara is worth considering if Vodafone reception works well where you use your phone, you want a competitively priced SIM-only plan, or you make calls from the UK to eligible international numbers. Its advertised roaming in eligible European destinations and India is another reason to compare it; Lebara's current destination list also mentions Ukraine. But “Lebara” alone does not tell you how many international minutes you get, whether you can leave without an exit charge, or whether you can activate an eSIM on your phone. The individual offer decides those things.
This is a comparison of selected Lebara offers, not a claim to show every Lebara promotion available through every UK retailer. Another comparison service may have an exclusive introductory discount or reward that is absent here. Judge each deal by its full renewal cost and features, not by a “cheapest” badge or the first payment alone.
No credit check: Lebara currently says its UK SIM-only plans do not require a credit check, including its advertised 12-month range. That is a provider statement about its SIM-only sign-up process, not a guarantee about a separate handset-finance product or every applicant's eligibility. Our guide to no-credit-check SIM-only deals explains the distinction if this is your main buying concern.
Editorial terms reviewed 20 October 2026. Historical deal examples below are dated 19 October; each live card's own last-checked date governs its displayed price and availability.
Why two Lebara SIM deals can show the same data at different prices
The most useful starting point is not the largest data allowance. It is the least expensive plan that covers your ordinary usage, the calls you actually make, and the period you want to stay.
Our Lebara catalogue has shown multiple 30-day listings with the same headline data amount but different prices. In the 19 October 2026 snapshot, there were two 30GB rolling listings and two 50GB rolling listings. Their public Full plan details pages showed the same UK-data quantity, contract type and UK minutes/texts within each pair, but did not state their international-minute allowances, roaming terms or eSIM eligibility. Therefore, neither we nor a buyer can establish from those fields alone whether they are truly equivalent. The lower-priced offer is the better starting point: if Lebara confirms the same relevant extras, renewal price and eligibility on both, there is no reason to pay more for the identical service. A dearer listing may have benefits missing from our recorded fields, but that is a possibility to verify, not a benefit we can claim.
There is another useful detail hidden behind the data figures: in the dated snapshot, the 5GB offers listed 1,000 UK minutes and 1,000 texts, while the 30GB rolling offers listed unlimited UK minutes and texts. It is unsafe to assume every Lebara SIM includes unlimited UK calling just because another one does. These are dated catalogue observations, not permanent promises about future offers.
Before clicking through, compare these five details:
- Allowance: enough UK data, plus the exact UK call and text allowance. Do not assume every smaller plan includes unlimited UK minutes.
- Commitment: a 30-day rolling renewal or a stated 12-month minimum term. These are not interchangeable.
- Calls abroad: eligible countries, mobile networks or landlines, number of minutes, and charges after the bundle runs out.
- Travel: whether your destination qualifies for roaming and how much of your UK data you can actually use there.
- Payment: introductory price, later renewals, upfront charges and any minimum total shown on the card.
What the two buttons actually verify: Full plan details currently lists such fields as the UK allowance, UK minutes/texts, advertised price, network and contract. It does not consistently establish international-minute limits, eligible countries, the roaming-data allowance, eSIM availability or future price-rise terms; some of those fields appear as “Not stated”. For those buying-critical details, use View Deal to reach the offer's provider checkout and verify the exact terms before paying. If a checkout claim conflicts with a DealPriceCheck card or cannot be confirmed, pause rather than assuming the editorial information fills the gap.
30-day Lebara SIM versus a 12-month plan: the commitment matters
Lebara promotes no-contract flexibility, but its UK range also includes offers described as 12-month SIM-only plans. The distinction is material: Lebara's general terms and conditions, clause 14.2, provide for an early-termination charge if you end a qualifying 12-month plan before its minimum commitment expires. The clause calculates that charge from the plan price and the time remaining, including part-months, subject to any applicable rights and exceptions. Illustration, not a current offer: if the relevant monthly plan charge were £10 and four whole months remained, that basic calculation would be £40. Check the actual termination quote before switching.
| What to compare | 30-day rolling SIM | 12-month SIM-only plan |
|---|---|---|
| How long you commit | Renews in 30-day periods; cancellation of future renewals is generally possible | A contractual minimum term applies to the identified 12-month offer |
| If you want to leave | Lebara says you can turn off auto-renewal on eligible rolling plans; check when the current paid period ends | Leaving early may trigger a remaining-term charge under clause 14.2 |
| Headline price | May be higher or lower than another listing with similar data | A lower headline rate is not guaranteed, even for the same data size |
| Best suited to | Trying reception, temporary use, uncertain plans or frequent switching | Someone confident about coverage and likely to stay for the minimum term |
The decision rule: only take a 12-month offer when its actual saving or extra benefits justify the reduced flexibility. If the rolling offer is similarly priced—or cheaper—there is little reason to accept a longer commitment purely because it is labelled a deal.
Do not multiply a 30-day price by 12 and automatically call that the cost of a calendar year: twelve 30-day periods cover 360 days, not 365. Compare like-for-like periods, and use a 12-month deal's displayed minimum contract cost rather than assuming its billing schedule matches the rolling product.
Lebara international calls: the minutes can matter more than the data
Lebara's distinctive proposition is international calling from the UK to eligible overseas destinations. Its current published range includes plans with different international-minute allowances; some have a set number of minutes, while selected higher-tier products advertise unlimited minutes to eligible countries alongside a separate India allowance. These benefits are plan-specific, not a blanket entitlement attached to every 30GB, 100GB or unlimited-data SIM.
For example, Lebara's official indexed product information reviewed on 19 October 2026 described one specific 30GB product with 100 international minutes from the UK and a separate 50GB product with 500. These are dated examples of particular offers, not allowances guaranteed for every plan with those data amounts. Our catalogue also contained other 30GB and 50GB listings whose international allowances could not be established from the public DealPriceCheck details. Do not transfer the 100- or 500-minute figure to another card simply because its data amount matches.
There is a crucial extra distinction for anyone calling Ukraine: Lebara's published standard eligible-country information specifies Ukraine (Kyivstar). That does not mean every Ukrainian mobile network or number type is included. Verify the exact number you intend to call, including whether mobile and landline calls are treated differently.
| Your actual calling pattern | What matters more than headline GB |
|---|---|
| You mainly use WhatsApp or FaceTime Audio on Wi-Fi | Reliable UK data and coverage; those app calls do not consume international telephone minutes |
| You call a supported overseas number occasionally | A smaller, eligible international-minute allowance may be enough |
| You regularly spend hours on overseas voice calls | Check a specifically named high-minute plan and the destination before paying more for data |
| You call several countries or different mobile operators | Confirm each country, network and number type rather than relying on “50+ countries” |
Calls from the UK to another country and calls made while you are physically abroad are different services with different rules. For the provider's current country and rate information, use Lebara's international calling page. To compare Lebara with operators offering other country-specific packages, see our UK SIMs for international calls guide. That guide answers a different question from this provider-only deals page.
Lebara roaming in Europe, India and Ukraine: check the 30GB cap
Lebara advertises Roam Like Home in eligible EU/EEA destinations and India. Its published roaming guidance also names Ukraine in the eligible-destinations answer reviewed on 20 October 2026. Some individual product pages still summarise the benefit simply as “EU or India”, so check Ukraine in the live roaming-rate finder and confirm your plan before travelling, rather than relying on a headline. Lebara's published rules set a 30GB ceiling on plan data that can be used in eligible Roam Like Home destinations. The actual amount is also restricted by your UK plan's allowance and the particular roaming terms.
| UK data allowance | Illustrative maximum data within eligible Roam Like Home destinations |
|---|---|
| 5GB | Up to 5GB, not 30GB |
| 30GB | Up to 30GB |
| 50GB | Up to 30GB |
| 100GB | Up to 30GB |
| Unlimited UK data | Up to 30GB; unlimited at home does not mean unlimited abroad |
These are ceilings derived from the published 30GB limit, not extra roaming bundles. The exact allowance, qualifying destinations, fair-use restrictions and any extra charges remain subject to your plan's current terms.
An India trip is a particularly useful reason to check Lebara, as the published arrangement can include eligible UK-plan data, calls and texts there. For Ukraine, keep two separate checks in mind: whether your own SIM can roam there under the latest destination rules, and whether UK-to-Ukraine international calls to your chosen network are included when you are back in Britain. One does not establish the other. India roaming does not mean calls to Indian numbers are unlimited, or that every service you use abroad is free. Check the destination in Lebara's rate finder before travelling; outside eligible destinations you may need credit or a roaming add-on. Long-term use abroad can also be subject to fair-use restrictions.

Coverage, 5G and eSIM: three different compatibility checks
Coverage: Lebara uses Vodafone's UK mobile network. This makes it a practical option to investigate if Vodafone signal is good at your home, workplace and usual destinations. It does not prove that Lebara and Vodafone-branded tariffs have identical speeds, priority, extras or customer service. The network name is a starting point, not a substitute for checking the postcode and buildings where you use your phone. The independent Ofcom Map Your Mobile checker can help. You can also compare other SIMs using Vodafone's network or read our detailed Vodafone vs Lebara comparison.
5G and calling: Eligible Lebara plans advertise 5G, subject to coverage and a suitable handset. Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling also depend on device and account support. If indoor mobile signal is poor and you depend on Wi-Fi Calling, confirm it for your exact phone before porting your main number.
eSIM: Do not read an eSIM icon as confirmation that any eSIM-capable device can join Lebara digitally. In Lebara's eSIM guidance reviewed 19 October 2026, the published self-service route for new customers still refers to the Apple iPhone Air; existing customers have separate migration/support arrangements. Eligibility is being rolled out and may change. If you have another iPhone or Android device and must activate without a physical SIM, obtain confirmation from Lebara first, or compare the UK eSIM deals page. An eSIM-capable handset alone is not enough.
Does Lebara's “no annual price rises” claim protect you?
Lebara currently markets its plans with no annual price rises. That is a useful distinction from plans with a scheduled yearly increase, but it is not a promise that every price, promotional discount, calling rate or roaming condition can never change.
For a rolling deal, check the first payment, any later advertised renewal price, how you would be notified of changes, and when you can stop future renewals. For a 12-month offer, check the contractual price terms and minimum commitment. A discount that lasts only for the opening renewals has to be assessed over the period you expect to keep the SIM.
If another retailer advertises exclusive cashback, vouchers or a limited promotional tariff, compare its effective cost over the same period and the conditions for receiving any reward. Our live Lebara cards show selected available routes, not every exclusive promotion on the UK market.
Which Lebara SIM should you shortlist?
| Your priority | Start with | Walk away or check another option if… |
|---|---|---|
| Spend as little as possible | The smallest live plan that comfortably covers your ordinary data and calls | A cheaper-looking offer has too few UK or international minutes, or an unexpected later price |
| Keep flexibility | A 30-day rolling card with clear auto-renewal terms | The deal actually carries a 12-month minimum commitment |
| Speak to family abroad | The precise destination and telephone-number inclusion, then the international-minute allowance | Your country, mobile network or number type is excluded |
| Travel to Europe, India or Ukraine | Destination eligibility and the roaming cap, not just the UK data amount | You need more than the included roaming data or a service outside the published rules |
| Use a digital-only phone | Explicit new-customer eSIM support for your device | Lebara cannot confirm activation on your exact handset |
| Stay on Vodafone coverage | Local signal check followed by the actual Lebara plan features | You need a feature offered by another Vodafone-network provider but not by this tariff |
Our verdict: Lebara can be a sensible choice for Vodafone-network coverage, selected international calling needs and eligible roaming, especially when the current tariff's full cost is competitive. It is not automatically best for a customer who needs unrestricted eSIM activation, unlimited roaming data, a particular overseas mobile network, or flexibility on a 12-month deal. Choose the terms of the individual SIM, not the provider slogan.
When you have a shortlist, return to the live Lebara cards above, inspect Full plan details for its recorded terms and use View Deal to confirm the unlisted features and make the purchase through that card's existing route.
Frequently asked questions about Lebara SIM-only deals
Is Lebara on the Vodafone network?
Yes. Lebara uses Vodafone's UK mobile network, but network sharing does not guarantee identical tariffs, speeds, device features or support. Check coverage where you will use your phone.
Are all Lebara SIMs no-contract?
No. Our listings include both 30-day rolling plans and offers identified as 12-month contracts. Lebara's general terms include an early-termination provision for qualifying 12-month plans. Read the specific minimum term before purchasing.
Can I cancel a 30-day Lebara plan?
Lebara says customers on eligible 30-day rolling SIM-only plans can cancel future renewal by turning off auto-renewal. Check the plan's cut-off, current paid-period expiry and any separate services; switching off renewal is not the same as obtaining a refund for an already-started period.
Does a Lebara 100GB or unlimited SIM include 100GB of EU roaming?
No. Under the published eligible Roam Like Home rules, the roaming-data ceiling is 30GB. A plan with a smaller UK allowance has that smaller allowance as its starting limit. Confirm the destination and any fair-use rules.
Are international-minute allowances shown in DealPriceCheck's Lebara deal details?
Not consistently. The current details pages show the UK minutes and texts but do not reliably show the overseas-minute quantity or eligible number types. Treat the provider's precise product terms at checkout as essential to the decision, particularly where two offers share the same headline data allowance.
Does Lebara include calls to India, Poland or Ukraine?
Selected plans include international calls to eligible destinations from the UK, but minute quantities and number eligibility differ. For Ukraine, the published standard calling list specifies eligible Kyivstar numbers; do not assume every Ukrainian network is covered. Always check the exact plan.
Can I get a Lebara eSIM for any iPhone or Android phone?
Do not assume so. As of our 19 October 2026 review, Lebara's new-customer guidance describes a limited rollout starting with the Apple iPhone Air, while existing-customer conversion is handled differently. Confirm your device and sign-up route directly with Lebara before paying.
Can I keep my current UK number when I switch to Lebara?
Usually, yes. Text PAC to 65075 from your existing UK number and give the code to Lebara when arranging the switch. It is valid for 30 days. If you might still owe charges to your existing provider, text INFO to 85075 first. See Ofcom's mobile switching advice. Do not cancel the old number yourself before arranging its transfer.
How we compare Lebara deals
DealPriceCheck displays selected UK offers, with each live card's own last-verified date, advertised price, data allowance, contract information and route to the provider. We compare published terms and official guidance; we have not performed independent signal tests, measured Lebara download speeds, or tested its customer service. Individual product terms take precedence over general provider claims, and prices, promotions and eligibility may change.
Some View Deal links are affiliate links and may earn DealPriceCheck a commission, normally without increasing the price you pay. That relationship does not make a particular plan the cheapest or the best fit. For non-Lebara alternatives, compare all selected UK SIM-only deals. If you are deciding specifically between providers, our Lebara vs Lyca Mobile comparison examines the different host networks and calling packages.
