Which Vodafone-network SIM should you shortlist?
Start with the feature you cannot afford to lose. A cheap first payment is little use if the deal excludes your calls abroad, does not work reliably where you live or commits you for longer than you want.
| Your situation | Compare first | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Vodafone coverage suits you, but the bill is too high | Lebara and Talkmobile | Full cost after any introductory discount, plus the features you currently use |
| You use selected social, video or music apps heavily in the UK | VOXI and other rolling plans | Which app activity qualifies, and what still uses your main data allowance |
| You call family or clients abroad from Britain | Lebara | Whether your specific country and required minutes are included |
| You travel regularly in Europe | Talkmobile, Lebara and Asda Mobile | Included countries, data fair-use limits, passes and any charges |
| You shop at Asda and are comfortable with a commitment | Asda Mobile | Reward eligibility against the cost and minimum contract term |
| You need a specific premium Vodafone feature or account service | Vodafone | Whether your chosen tariff actually includes that benefit |
These are shortlists, not permanent winners. Only compare offers that currently appear in the live cards, then check the provider's checkout for eligibility and exact terms. A provider may be a sensible choice for one need and poor value for another.
For Vodafone-branded tariffs only, see Vodafone SIM-only deals. If you are mainly researching which companies use the network, see who uses Vodafone's network; that guide serves a different question from this shopping page.
Why do some deals say Vodafone and others Vodafone + Three?
Vodafone UK and Three UK came together as VodafoneThree in 2025. Their networks are being integrated in stages, and the company markets the combined consumer infrastructure as The Nation's Network. That does not establish that every provider or tariff can already use every mast, technology or feature. VodafoneThree's announcement explains the wider integration.
DealPriceCheck's live cards show the network category recorded for each offer, rather than an individual test of access at your address:
| Network label shown | What it means here | What it cannot promise |
|---|---|---|
| Vodafone | A Vodafone-based recorded offer, including Vodafone and Lebara plans | That it has every Vodafone retail feature, or is excluded from all future combined-network improvements |
| Vodafone + Three | An offer mapped to the combined-network category, currently including relevant Talkmobile, VOXI and Asda plans | Identical access to both networks at every location or identical indoor reception and speeds |
Ofcom's mobile coverage FAQ identifies Lebara Mobile, Asda Mobile, Talkmobile and VOXI as providers using Vodafone's network. The corporate merger and a catalogue label do not establish that an independent wholesale customer, such as Lebara, receives every new shared-network capability on the same terms as a Vodafone customer.
Will another Vodafone-network SIM improve your signal?
If Vodafone reception is reliable at home and work but you dislike the price, a suitable Vodafone-based alternative is worth comparing. If radio coverage itself is poor, changing to another brand using Vodafone infrastructure may leave the main problem unchanged. Network integration can alter coverage over time, but the exact provider's eligibility matters.
Check Ofcom's Map Your Mobile and the retailer's own checker for your home, workplace and frequent journeys. Ofcom's address-level figures rely on network predictions; postcode-district performance data cannot guarantee indoor reception in a particular room. For a deeper explanation of sharing and speeds, use our MVNO coverage guide. If you are primarily shopping for Three-based coverage, use Three-network SIM deals and check any combined-network label carefully.
What really changes between the five providers?
The provider feature notes below were checked on 19 October 2026. They explain what to investigate, not benefits guaranteed on every tariff. Check the selected plan's current terms before buying.
Vodafone: worthwhile when a specific feature justifies the bill
Buying direct can make sense for an eligible account benefit, in-store support, bundled service or a particular premium network feature. But Vodafone's own SIMs are not all equivalent. For example, Vodafone Basics is a 4G-only range without outgoing international calling. Its roaming arrangements and charges depend on the version of the plan and the applicable terms; it would be inaccurate to claim that all Basics customers can never roam. Check the Basics restrictions before treating a lower price as a like-for-like replacement.
Vodafone also offers premium services such as SuperMobile 5G+ FastTrack, with eligibility and performance conditions tied to the tariff, handset and available coverage. A generic 5G included badge does not mean another SIM has that premium capability. On longer Vodafone agreements, inspect disclosed annual price increases and the full payment schedule, not just the opening bill. Our Vodafone vs Lebara guide goes into that specific two-brand choice.
Lebara: check the destination and the price after the offer
Lebara uses Vodafone infrastructure and is worth checking for flexible SIMs or calls to overseas destinations. International minutes are plan-specific: a headline about international calls does not mean every country, premium number or type of call is included. Check the destination you actually call and the relevant fair-use conditions.
Separate an introductory price from the charge after the discounted payments finish. A plan could be good for someone comfortable switching again soon and less attractive over a year. Use Lebara's tracked SIM comparison or the current live cards here, which retain their eligible partner purchase routes.
Lebara has offered Roam Like Home arrangements for eligible European destinations and India, subject to the chosen plan. Using your SIM in India is not the same as calling India from the UK. Its eSIM availability has also depended on customer and handset eligibility, so confirm activation before choosing an offer solely because it has 5G.
Talkmobile: compare the commitment, not just the allowance
Talkmobile is part of the VodafoneThree brand group. Its SIM-only options can include both rolling and longer agreements, and apparently similar data bundles may have different promotional payment schedules and leaving conditions.
Talkmobile publishes a no-annual-price-rise policy and describes compatible 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi Calling and European roaming services. This is not a promise that every short-term promotional price lasts forever, or that overseas data is unrestricted. The choice between a 30-day plan and a fixed term comes down to the complete cost, roaming needs and how likely you are to change provider. Compare the current Talkmobile plans.
VOXI: app benefits have exclusions, especially abroad
VOXI may suit people who use supported social, music or video services for a large share of their UK data. Its unlimited-app benefits cover selected activities, not unlimited access to everything inside an app. Third-party adverts or websites, and social-app voice or video calls, can use the general data allowance. Some music and video services need separate subscriptions.
According to VOXI's current terms, a European Roaming Pass is required for relevant European travel, and covered app traffic abroad is deducted from the usual data allowance, subject to the plan's fair-use rules. A VOXI bundle that makes sense for UK social use can therefore be a worse fit for frequent travellers. Check the VOXI offers, including any expiry on a temporary data boost.
Asda Mobile: make rewards earn their place
Asda Mobile's range includes short recurring choices and longer SIM-only agreements. The shorter term can be worth paying for when you may move soon; a longer commitment may appeal if you are confident in your usage and its total cost.
Certain qualifying longer-term plans connect monthly payments to an Asda Rewards Cashpot. On the official Asda plan page checked on 19 October 2026, the provider advertised 2% of the monthly bill as Cashpot rewards on eligible 12-month contracts and 5% on eligible 24-month contracts. That is a shopping reward, not an automatic discount on the phone bill. Its usefulness depends on the selected agreement, current rules and whether you use Asda Rewards. Compare the actual bill, minimum term, roaming and any early-exit cost on Asda Mobile deals.
Another practical distinction: Asda advertises unused-data rollover on eligible SIM-only contracts, allowing unused data from the previous month to carry into the next, subject to the plan's conditions. That can help when usage varies, but it is not permission to accumulate data indefinitely. Check the precise bundle before counting on it.
Compare what you will actually pay
The lowest displayed starting price is not necessarily the cheapest plan for the time you intend to keep it. Different deals combine discounts, recurring prices, contract lengths and permitted future increases in different ways.
- Choose your real data requirement. Look at several bills or phone data records, including commuting, holidays and any tethering. Buying unused gigabytes does not save money.
- Write down each payment stage. Identify the introductory period, the later recurring charge and any published contractual increase. A discount ending is different from an annual price rise.
- Compare the relevant duration. For flexible plans, work out what several renewals would cost. For a fixed contract, consider the full minimum commitment and the cost of leaving early.
- Include likely extras. Overseas calls, roaming passes, top-ups, upfront charges and missing features can reverse an apparent saving.
- Check that you qualify. An advertised promotion may be for new or switching customers and exclude moves from related VodafoneThree brands. A current Vodafone customer should not assume a new-customer discount applies when moving between brands in the group.
Example: a cheaper first bill can cost more over a year
These are illustrative figures, not current Vodafone-network tariffs. Assume there are no additional fees or scheduled rises in the example:
| Comparison | Plan A: £4 for 3 payments, then £10 | Plan B: £7 throughout | Lower cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| First 3 payments | £12 | £21 | Plan A |
| 12 payments | £102 | £84 | Plan B |
Plan A looks cheaper at first but costs £18 more across 12 payments. If the two offers renew on different schedules — for example every 30 days versus by calendar month — count comparable billing periods and read the provider's payment breakdown rather than treating them as identical.
Where a live card displays minimum contract cost or effective monthly cost, use the figure to compare, but confirm what it includes. A one-payment minimum on a rolling deal is not a 12-month total; a long commitment may have scheduled price changes. For new UK contracts since 17 January 2025, Ofcom requires specified in-contract increases to be disclosed in pounds and pence rather than unspecified inflation-linked percentages. Read Ofcom's price-rise guidance alongside the actual contract summary.
Do a final rise check on 12- or 24-month Vodafone plans. A displayed minimum cost calculated from the opening monthly price may not include later scheduled increases. If the provider's contract summary shows April rises, add the relevant higher payments before comparing the full commitment. Check the price-rise information for the exact plan, not just the initial total printed on a card. If you want to avoid annual contractual increases, compare the separate SIM deals with no annual price rises category, subject to each offer's own terms.
If flexibility is your priority, visit 30-day and no-contract SIM deals. If price is the primary restriction, try SIMs starting under £10, remembering that some introductory deals later exceed that amount. This hub remains focused on the Vodafone-network choice, not a duplicate budget ranking.
Calling abroad is different from roaming
These two features solve different problems:
- Calling abroad from the UK: dialling a number overseas while physically in Britain. Unlimited domestic minutes do not automatically include these calls.
- Roaming: using a UK SIM while you are physically overseas. Zones, fair-use limits, passes and charges depend on the selected retailer and tariff, not merely the UK host network.
| Your routine | What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Calling relatives overseas from the UK | Eligible international destinations, minutes and exclusions on a particular Lebara plan | UK minutes alone say nothing about most overseas calls |
| Taking European trips | Roaming-zone inclusion and fair-use data on the exact Lebara, Talkmobile or Asda plan | A provider may include a country but restrict roaming data |
| Using VOXI social or video services while travelling | Pass requirements and ordinary data consumption abroad | The UK unlimited-app benefit does not transfer unchanged |
| Relying on Vodafone's branded roaming perks | Actual plan tier, country, pass and allowance rules | Not every Vodafone tariff carries the same benefits |
Nothing in this table establishes a fixed allowance or an evergreen free-roaming promise. For a travel-first comparison use EU roaming SIM deals, and verify the precise country at checkout and before departure.
If your current Vodafone SIM disappoints, diagnose the cause
| Problem | Sensible next step |
|---|---|
| Good reception, high monthly bill | Compare Lebara, Talkmobile, VOXI and Asda alternatives, then check which current benefits you might lose |
| Signal is weak indoors but acceptable outside | Check the new retailer's Wi-Fi Calling eligibility, your handset settings and indoor coverage predictions |
| Reception is weak throughout your normal locations | Compare genuinely different underlying networks, while checking the exact progress and entitlement of VodafoneThree integration |
| Mobile data struggles at busy events | Review the specific speed cap or premium service entitlement; do not assume MVNO deprioritisation without evidence |
| eSIM will not activate, or security texts stop arriving | Check handset compatibility and account activation, then test incoming texts and calls after any switch |
Changing from Vodafone to a Vodafone-based retail alternative can be a good cost or service change, but is not automatically a change of radio coverage. Check what is causing the problem before you buy a new SIM to solve it.
How to keep your number when switching
Most people can keep their UK mobile number, including when moving to a separately operated provider that uses the same underlying radio network. The precise transfer route depends on the retail providers involved, not just the mast network.
- Check your existing commitment. Ask about any early termination charge, remaining handset instalments and services that will continue separately.
- Choose the replacement offer. Confirm your location's coverage, the plan's essential features, SIM or eSIM activation and the full payment schedule.
- For a standard provider-to-provider transfer, request a PAC. Text PAC to 65075 from the existing service to keep your number. Text STAC to 75075 if you want to leave and do not want to keep that number. Codes are generally valid for 30 days.
- Check for a Vodafone–VOXI internal-transfer exception. VOXI says existing Vodafone Pay as you go customers can move and keep their number and SIM; Vodafone Pay monthly customers should contact Vodafone support to discuss their options. Going from VOXI to Vodafone Pay monthly has its own number-move form. Follow VOXI's account-move instructions or Vodafone's pay-monthly transfer route for the correct direction instead of assuming a standard PAC port.
- Let the destination provider complete the move. Under Ofcom's standard switching rules, the new provider must complete a valid switch within one working day. Do not cancel your old line separately before organising a number transfer. Then test calls, data, messages, voicemail and security texts.
Read Ofcom's switching rules and our guide to keeping your number. If you are only changing plan with the same retailer, use its own plan-change process.
Vodafone-network SIM deals: common questions
Which mobile providers use the Vodafone network in the UK?
Vodafone itself and eligible offers from Lebara, Talkmobile, VOXI and Asda Mobile appear in this selected comparison. Ofcom identifies the four additional brands as Vodafone-network users. This is a buying catalogue, not a complete directory of every wholesale or specialist provider; see our wider network guide.
Does Vodafone + Three mean the same service as a Three SIM?
No. It indicates DealPriceCheck's currently recorded combined-network category, while actual coverage, rollout, tariff access and handset capabilities may differ. Compare the intended retailer's coverage rather than treating the two names as interchangeable.
Can Lebara or Talkmobile cost less than Vodafone?
Yes, if a suitable simpler offer is cheaper over the period you need it. It is not guaranteed, and a direct Vodafone tariff may offer a benefit that makes its higher cost worthwhile. Check later payments and contractual increases before deciding.
Will every provider on Vodafone deliver the same 5G speed?
Not necessarily. Tariff speed caps, supported 5G technology, device compatibility and premium features can differ. Sharing the host network is useful information about the signal, not a guarantee of identical service.
Is EU roaming included with all Vodafone-network SIMs?
No. Some offers include qualifying destinations subject to limits; others need a pass or charge. VOXI's European Roaming Pass is an important example. Verify the precise plan and country rather than relying on the host-network name.
Can I get an eSIM on a Vodafone-network deal?
Eligible plans from several providers offer eSIM, but the activation route, supported handset and customer eligibility differ. The live eSIM SIM-only deals page can narrow your choice, and the retailer's checkout is the final confirmation.
Is a Vodafone-network deal always a 30-day contract?
No. The live comparison may include rolling plans and 12- or 24-month commitments. Contract length and later promotional payments matter more than the provider's brand. Use the Contract filter on the live catalogue.
What if I already have Vodafone and want to move to VOXI?
The route differs by your current tariff: VOXI provides an internal number-and-SIM move for eligible Vodafone Pay as you go customers, while Vodafone Pay monthly customers are directed to Vodafone support. Check VOXI's official move page and whether you qualify for any new-customer offer; moving within a corporate group need not be treated as switching from an unrelated operator.
What is the cheapest Vodafone-network SIM today?
There is no permanent winner. It depends on the selected live offers, the data you need, promotional versus later charges, contract term and eligibility. Use the catalogue's current checked date, filters and Full plan details, then confirm the final price with the provider.
How DealPriceCheck compares these offers
DealPriceCheck lists selected Vodafone-related SIM-only offers using its currently recorded network mappings. It does not claim to show every UK deal or test signal at your address. The catalogue's latest-checked date, offer details and filters tell you what our current dataset shows; the provider's final contract summary and checkout determine the product you will buy.
Some View Deal buttons are affiliate links and may earn DealPriceCheck a commission if you buy. Verify the price and eligibility at the provider's checkout, and choose based on signal, features, whole-period cost and the commitment you can accept. Read how we compare deals for our methodology and commercial disclosure.
