No-Contract SIM Only Deals UK

Compare UK no-contract SIM-only deals with one-month or 30-day rolling commitments. These live cards list short-term bundles and agreements, not traditional pay-per-use PAYG credit. Filter by price, data and network, then check the renewal charge, payment model and cancellation rules. A short commitment does not guarantee a fixed price, no credit check or immediate cancellation.

What “no contract” actually means

It means a short minimum commitment, not an absence of terms. The plans on this page are recorded as one-month or 30-day rolling SIM offers. You can usually reassess sooner than with a 12- or 24-month contract, but your payment method, renewal date and cancellation rules depend on the specific product.

How the SIM worksWhat you are paying forWhat to check before joining
Prepaid 30-day bundleCalls, texts and data paid for upfront for a defined periodWhether it renews automatically, when unused allowance expires and what happens if the next payment fails
One-month or 30-day rolling pay-monthly planAn ongoing service agreement with a short minimum termThe notice requirement, final bill, any credit assessment and whether the billing period is a calendar month or exactly 30 days
Traditional PAYG creditCalls, texts or data charged as you use them, without necessarily buying a monthly bundlePer-unit charges, minimum top-ups and inactivity rules; pay-per-use tariffs are a different type of product from the rolling deals listed here

The distinction is real, not just wording. SMARTY says its rolling plans are paid upfront and do not require a credit check. Talkmobile describes its rolling plans as automatically renewing and requiring 30 days' notice for ordinary cancellation. Other providers have their own terms. Do not assume a card labelled “30-day rolling” tells you which payment model applies.

If you hardly use mobile data or only need a backup number, traditional pay-per-use PAYG might be a better comparison than any monthly bundle. It is not automatically included in the live rolling-SIM catalogue. Our PAYG vs SIM-only guide covers that separate choice.

A 30-day renewal is not always a monthly bill

A package that renews every 30 days and one charged every calendar month do not follow identical schedules. Twelve 30-day periods cover 360 days; someone needing uninterrupted coverage for 365 days from their start date may need to buy a thirteenth 30-day period before the year is up. That payment buys a further 30 days of service, so it is not simply a wasted charge.

Check the actual renewal dates before multiplying a headline price by twelve. If you want the worked maths for a longer-term decision, our 30-day versus 12-month unlimited SIM guide examines the billing distinction in detail. This page is for choosing a suitable short-commitment deal now.

Which rolling SIM should you compare first?

Start with the reason you want flexibility, then use the live filters above. The lowest first-period price is not necessarily the cheapest option for your intended stay.

Your situationA sensible first shortlistThe detail most likely to change your choice
You need service for one or two payment periodsShort-term offers with adequate coverage and a clear activation dateWhether renewal costs more, whether auto-renewal can be stopped and whether a notice period creates a second bill
You want to try a different networkA rolling deal using the network you want to test, with enough data for your normal routineIndoor signal at home and work, compatible 4G Calling/5G, and the cost of leaving after the trial
You want a SIM without a credit checkConfirmed prepaid options, including SMARTY or Lyca PAYG bundlesCheck the selected product is genuinely prepaid; a short term alone does not prove that no check is required
You expect to stay for a year or moreCompare a rolling offer against relevant fixed-term SIMsFull-year spend after introductory periods and scheduled price changes—not the one-month minimum cost
You travel or must activate immediatelyFilter for roaming and eSIM where supportedYour actual overseas allowance, handset compatibility, activation requirements and renewal while away

The DealPriceCheck selection spans different underlying networks; it is not a promise that every UK provider or product is listed. EE-network examples include Lyca Mobile and 1pMobile, Three-based examples include SMARTY and iD Mobile, and giffgaff uses O2. Which eligible offers appear above can change. Some other cards show “Vodafone + Three” as a catalogue network label. That label does not guarantee that an individual SIM uses both networks everywhere. Nor does sharing an underlying network guarantee identical speed limits, Wi-Fi Calling or roaming. Use the Network filter and then the selected provider's postcode checker.

If you already know your preferred network and simply want to spend less, SIM deals under £10 gives you a broader price-led comparison, including longer commitments. If short duration is the non-negotiable requirement, stay with the rolling offers on this page.

The exit matters as much as the entry price

There are two different situations: switching your mobile service to another provider and stopping a plan without switching. Confusing them can lead to unnecessary payments or losing a number you intended to keep.

If you're switching and keeping your number

For a standard UK single-number switch, text PAC to 65075 from the number you want to keep, then give the code to the new provider. The PAC is valid for 30 days. Ofcom says the new provider must normally complete the switch within one working day, and the old provider must not charge for a notice period after the switching date. Any genuine early termination charges that arose before the switch are a separate question. Ofcom's mobile-switching guidance explains the protections.

If you do not want to keep the number, the standard switching route is to text STAC to 75075. For an account with more than one mobile number, request the appropriate code by phone or online rather than assuming the single-number text process applies.

This matters when comparing a provider's ordinary cancellation wording with Ofcom's switching rules. For example, Talkmobile's general description of rolling contracts mentions 30 days' notice, but that should not be read as permission to bill an additional notice period after a completed regulated switch. The two routes have different mechanics.

If you want the service to stop altogether

Use that specific provider's cancellation process and check the date service ends. A prepaid plan may expire unless it is set to renew; a rolling billed contract may require notice and a final payment. Simply cancelling a Direct Debit is not the same as cancelling an agreement. If you may want to keep the number, request a PAC before closure where possible. Ofcom says that, in most cases, you can still transfer it within one month after cancelling. Contact your old provider promptly for a PAC if you did not obtain one first; do not assume your number will remain available indefinitely.

Buying a SIM for just one month? Before ordering, ask whether you can give notice immediately, when the minimum period begins and ends, and whether any final bill or renewal will fall after your departure. A 30-day contract with a separate notice requirement is not automatically a one-payment product.

For a temporary UK stay, the practical checklist is short: activation date, auto-renewal setting, remaining balance, cancellation route and number retention. Make those checks before pressing View Deal, not when you are about to leave.

Work out the price after the promotion ends

The minimum term cost on a rolling card describes the shortest commitment recorded for that offer. It is not necessarily the total you will pay before the service stops, or a promise that every renewal will cost the same. A discounted first month, a deal restricted to new customers or a recurring-payment condition can change the practical total.

Consider two entirely hypothetical offers on the same renewal schedule:

Promotional rolling planSteady-price rolling plan
First three periods£4 per period£8 per period
Later periods£10 per period£8 per period
Cost over three periods£12£24
Cost over twelve periods£102£96

For a genuinely short stay, the promotion wins in this example. For twelve equal periods, the steady-price plan wins. Neither tariff is a real-time DealPriceCheck offer; this is a calculation to show why how long you will stay changes the cheapest choice.

When comparing actual cards:

  1. Read the starting price and any stated end to the promotion.
  2. Note the standard renewal charge and whether a new price or annual change is possible.
  3. Compare equivalent periods: calendar-monthly bills and exact 30-day bundles may have different renewal counts.
  4. Include activation fees or other compulsory costs where applicable. Count cashback only if you can meet its conditions.

If predictability matters more than the ability to leave, compare SIM deals with no annual price rises, but remember that no scheduled annual rise is not necessarily a guarantee that a flexible plan's price will never change with proper notice. A longer contract may also carry disclosed rises. Our SIM-only price rises guide covers that separately.

Features worth keeping

Coverage first. A rolling SIM is useful for testing an unfamiliar network, but a cheap plan is poor value if calls fail indoors. Compare predicted coverage through Ofcom's Map Your Mobile and the chosen provider's checker. Predictions do not guarantee reception in your building or identical service from all brands using shared masts.

Credit checks are about payment arrangements, not the headline contract length. SMARTY explicitly says its prepaid rolling plans need no credit check, and Lyca describes its PAYG options as available without one. That does not establish the credit policy of every one-month pay-monthly tariff. Confirm the exact product before applying, especially if you have limited UK credit history.

Roaming is independent of flexibility. A 30-day SIM might include a usable European allowance, apply a fair-use cap or require paid passes. A maximum roaming cap is not additional data on top of a smaller UK plan. Check your destinations and usable allowance before travelling. The EU roaming SIM comparison focuses on that decision.

eSIM and calling features vary. An eSIM can be helpful if you need a second number or want to activate without waiting for a physical SIM, but check that your specific handset and plan support it. Wi-Fi Calling, 4G Calling, speed policies and tethering are also provider- and tariff-dependent. If electronic activation is essential, use UK eSIM deals to widen the shortlist.

Unlimited is still a separate buying decision. If your recent data usage is modest, a fixed-data rolling deal may save money. If you regularly use a hotspot or stream heavily, check the actual unlimited tariff conditions and browse unlimited SIM deals; do not assume every “large data” bundle has no limit.

From the comparison to your next SIM

  1. Set the practical minimums in the live filters: data, acceptable monthly price and the network you can use. Add eSIM, roaming or 5G only if essential. If the filters do not cover a feature, verify it on the provider's site.
  2. Shortlist two or three cards that meet those needs. If the starting price is discounted, compare the first renewal at the normal rate as well.
  3. Use Full plan details to review the terms recorded by DealPriceCheck, especially the 30-day/one-month commitment and any promotional period.
  4. Use View Deal to confirm the current offer, payment and cancellation rules on the provider's website before completing an order. The provider's checkout and contract summary take precedence over a comparison snapshot.
  5. If replacing an existing number, follow the PAC/STAC switching route rather than closing the old line prematurely.

This page is the shopping comparison for short-term SIMs. For editorial explanations and scenario-based quick picks rather than this live shopping catalogue, read our best 30-day SIM-only deals guide; it has a separate informational role and should not become a second copy of the listings.

Questions about no-contract SIM deals

Is a no-contract SIM completely contract-free?

Usually not in the literal sense. You still agree to the provider's terms. Here, no-contract means a short one-month or 30-day commitment rather than a long fixed minimum term. Check the exact renewal and notice rules.

Can I cancel a 30-day rolling SIM immediately?

You may be able to request cancellation immediately, but the service or final charge can continue until the applicable end date. If you only need the SIM for one period, check when notice can start and whether you will owe a second payment. Prepaid renewal controls and billed-plan notices are different. When switching providers, Ofcom's protection against charges for notice periods after the switch applies.

Is a 30-day SIM the same as pay as you go?

Not always. A prepaid 30-day bundle can resemble PAYG, but a one-month billed agreement may operate differently. Traditional PAYG credit also allows usage-based charging without an automatically included monthly allowance. Check the specific billing model rather than relying on the category label.

Do no-contract SIM deals require a credit check?

Some do and some do not. SMARTY's prepaid rolling plans and Lyca's PAYG SIMs advertise no credit check, while other monthly-billed products may assess applicants. Do not infer approval rules solely from a short minimum term.

Will the advertised price stay the same every month?

Not necessarily. A promotion can end after its stated period, and a provider's ongoing price policy can differ between products. The live card's first-period minimum cost is not a fixed-price guarantee for future renewals.

Can I keep my existing mobile number?

Yes. For a standard UK single-number switch, text PAC to 65075 and give the code to the new provider. If you have already cancelled, Ofcom says number transfer is still possible within one month in most cases; ask the old provider for a PAC promptly. Multi-number accounts may need a phone or online request instead.

Are 5G, eSIM and EU roaming included with every rolling SIM?

No. Those are separate plan features and device or destination conditions. Use the relevant filters, then verify the exact SIM and provider terms before paying.
