Best EE-Network SIMs Under £10 in the UK

You can get an EE-network SIM for less than £10 without buying from EE itself. Compare currently eligible offers from EE-based providers such as 1pMobile, spusu and Lyca Mobile, but distinguish a recurring price that stays strictly below £10 from a short introductory discount followed by a higher bill. The live offers on this page separate those cases. If £10 is your hard limit for every payment, begin with the continuing-price group, check your data needs and use Full plan details before View Deal.

Which EE-network SIM should you compare first?

No EE-network provider is permanently the cheapest under £10. Start with the current recurring offers if every renewal must stay below your limit. Consider the separate introductory deals only when the full later price, cancellation terms and your expected stay make sense. Data needs decide which qualifying offer is useful.

These are routes to live options, not a ranking that assumes each operator always has a qualifying product. On a strict budget, a small amount of suitable data can beat a much larger allowance that becomes expensive after a promotion.

What does “under £10” actually mean here?

The price threshold is deliberately strict: £9.99 qualifies; £10.00 does not. An EE-branded plan is not required — the provider must use EE's underlying UK network, and the particular offer must meet our price and verification checks.

Our existing live budget block applies three rules:

  1. Confirmed EE network: the provider must have a supported EE mapping. A similar-looking brand name or a historical network relationship is not sufficient.
  2. A genuine recurring charge below £10: a one-off cashback payment, free SIM delivery or first activation discount does not by itself turn a £12 recurring tariff into a sub-£10 plan. Genuine promotional recurring payments may qualify, but belong in their own clearly labelled group when their later price reaches £10 or more.
  3. Recent offer evidence: a tariff checked more than seven days ago is not eligible for a current cheapest-deal recommendation. If nothing qualifies, the correct result is an empty live list, not a guessed price or an old offer. In that case, use the complete EE-network catalogue to consider plans outside this strict threshold.

There is a crucial distinction between under £10 per renewal and under £10 averaged across every calendar month of a year. A 30-day cycle may produce 13 payments during 365 days, depending on when you start. A calendar-month subscription normally produces 12 monthly payments over a year. Check the actual billing interval, not just a label such as “30-day contract”.

Can an EE-network SIM under £10 cost more than £120 a year?

Yes. Here is a hypothetical comparison with no price changes, upfront costs or additional data charges:

Payment scheduleAmount per paymentPayments needed for continuous cover over 365 daysTotal paid
Renewed every 30 days£9.9013£128.70
Charged each calendar month£9.9012£118.80

Each payment is below £10, yet the 30-day option costs £9.90 more in payments needed to cover the 365-day period. Its thirteenth payment starts a further 30-day period extending beyond that year. It is not an extra surprise fee; it is simply a different renewal frequency. If you only need a SIM for a few months, use the number of renewals in your intended period instead of assuming a full-year cost.

For a hard £120-a-year cash-outlay limit, a 30-day charge must be no more than £9.23 per renewal if you need to pay for 13 full periods and have no other costs. That would total £119.99. This is different from a hard £10-per-payment limit, which a £9.90 renewal still satisfies. You also retain service beyond day 365 from the thirteenth payment, so the table measures payments needed for continuous cover, not a like-for-like cost per day used.

What happens when an introductory discount ends?

A deal that is £5 or £9 for its first renewal is not necessarily affordable when you still need it six months later. The renewal schedule is part of the price. The temporary-offers block above exists precisely so its cards cannot be mistaken for continuing sub-£10 deals.

Consider two illustrative calendar-month plans with the same useful data and no extra fees or annual rises:

ExampleFirst 3 paymentsNext 9 paymentsTotal for 12 payments
Plan A: introductory discount£6 each£14 each£144
Plan B: steady budget price£9 each£9 each£108

Plan A starts £3 cheaper, yet costs £36 more over twelve payments. This is not a quotation from Lyca, spusu, 1pMobile or EE. It explains why the length of the discount matters more than an impressive opening price.

A temporary discount can still be worthwhile if you need a SIM for a short, known period. Before relying on that strategy, check whether you can cancel or change your plan before the first higher-priced renewal, what notice is required and whether a minimum contract continues beyond the cheap period. A promotional 24-month plan cannot safely be treated as a one-month trial just because its first bill is low.

Under Ofcom's rules on contract price rises, any price rise written into a new UK telecoms contract from 17 January 2025 must be made clear upfront in pounds and pence, not tied to unknown future inflation. That does not ban all price changes or guarantee a promotional price forever. Check the promotional step-up, any disclosed contract increases and whether the offer renews every 30 days or each calendar month.

How do 1pMobile, spusu, Lyca and EE differ at this budget?

They can use the same underlying EE radio-network family while charging for very different packages. Network access does not mean matching price, roaming, handset services or support. Compare a specific qualifying offer rather than naming one brand the winner.

1pMobile: a renewing Boost or classic PAYG credit?

1pMobile's current offers are worth checking if you want EE-based service with a relatively small allowance and a short commitment. Its 30-day Boosts are bundles with included data, calls and texts, whereas classic PAYG charges separately for actual use. A Boost may be prepaid in the ordinary sense but still renew automatically; do not assume that 'prepaid' means 'pay only when you choose to top up'.

There is an important extra-cost detail: 1pMobile's published 5GB Boost terms describe an automatic collection every 30 days and a separate automatic top-up for chargeable usage credit when that balance runs low. That second mechanism is relevant if you use excess data, overseas calling or other services outside the bundle. Check the selected product's renewal, spending controls and top-up settings before ordering. Classic PAYG has different minimum-spend conditions; those are not an additional monthly fee on every Boost. Also check the actual tariff's 5G, Wi-Fi Calling and roaming support rather than assuming every EE-branded feature transfers.

spusu: is the allowance right for your budget?

spusu's EE-based tariffs cover different UK data needs. A genuinely suitable recurring price can be better for a tight budget than a larger introductory offer with a later jump. Read the specific tariff's data allowance, contract summary, overseas allowance and cancellation conditions — UK data and EU roaming data are not automatically the same amount.

The provider offers compatible eSIM, VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling services, but handset compatibility and the specific product remain important. A price shown in our selected catalogue may also differ from a retailer's time-limited promotion. Use the live card above and its Full plan details, not an assumption that a brand always gives a certain number of GB for the price.

Lyca Mobile: what will you pay after the promotion?

Lyca Mobile uses EE's UK radio network. It is worth checking when a qualifying plan combines UK data with relevant international-calling allowances, or when a promotion fits your intended stay. But a plan that rises to exactly £10 after the discount has ended no longer satisfies this article's strict continuing threshold; one that rises above £10 fails it as well.

Before buying, confirm the number of reduced-price renewals, normal price, minimum term, eSIM availability and any international-minute eligibility for your specific destination and number type. Calls to a foreign number from the UK and roaming while travelling are different benefits. Our international-calling guide addresses the former without making this strict-budget page a country-by-country calling comparison.

EE itself: does buying direct qualify?

Buying from EE directly may make sense for a particular retail feature or account benefit. But an EE-branded plan should appear in this under-£10 shortlist only if a verified, currently eligible offer actually meets the price rule. Do not treat the operator's network ownership as permission to insert a pricier plan.

If you want to pay more for a specific feature, or need a larger data tier, compare all EE-network tariffs and the relevant EE provider offers. For a precise host-versus-reseller choice, see EE vs 1pMobile.

How much data is enough without buying top-ups?

The cheapest advertised SIM can be an expensive choice if you repeatedly run out of data. Before comparing price per GB, look at the highest ordinary usage across your last few completed billing periods, plus any known change such as a new commute or using your phone as a hotspot.

Your actual usageBest approach under a tight capWhat can go wrong

Roughly 10–25GB, including commuting or some videoLook for a suitable larger allowance that continues to meet the budgetA big one-month Lyca promotion may reset at a higher price.
More than the largest qualifying plan coversWiden your search to all EE-network dealsBuying repeated add-ons to preserve an artificial £10 headline may cost more overall.

These are decision ranges, not claims about which live operator offers each data tier. You can check recent usage through your provider's billing app; phone data counters may run across different dates from your bill. Our data usage calculator and guide to choosing a monthly allowance can help if your history is unavailable.

How can top-ups push a cheap SIM over £10?

Suppose one hypothetical small-data SIM costs £5 per renewal but you regularly spend another £6 on data add-ons. Your actual recurring outlay is £11, outside your limit. A suitable £8.50 plan with enough included data would be £2.50 cheaper in that same payment period. Both are illustrative; no operator's actual add-on price is implied.

Also check what happens when data runs out. Depending on the contract, service may stop, slow down, require another bundle or consume chargeable account credit. A recurring bundle is not necessarily a cap on all charges — in particular, watch for the separate usage-credit mechanism described in the 1pMobile section above. For tight budgets, check whether your chosen plan has a spending cap or an alert, and how to control chargeable extras. If you often tether a laptop, include that usage before buying; our hotspot and tethering guide explains why it can change the calculation.

What features should you check on a cheaper EE-network SIM?

Will a cheaper EE-network SIM have the same coverage at home?

EE-based brands use EE-related infrastructure, so switching to a cheaper reseller can preserve a broadly similar radio footprint. However, supported features, speed limitations, technology access and handset performance may differ. Check Ofcom's Map Your Mobile for predicted indoor and outdoor 4G/5G coverage where you live and work. Its wider network performance estimates cover a postcode district, not the speed promised to your particular handset or tariff.

If EE already has poor reception at home, choosing another EE-based logo may not resolve a genuine EE coverage gap. You may get better value from a different network; the UK-wide SIMs under £10 catalogue lets you compare across networks. For the detailed explanation of shared masts, speed caps and network priority, read our MVNO coverage and speeds guide.

Do you need eSIM, Wi-Fi Calling or EU roaming?

A budget tariff should still do what you need. Before paying, check these questions on the exact product and handset:

For the wider list of brands using EE — including those outside our tracked catalogue — see Who uses EE's network?.

How do you choose a deal and reach checkout?

If £10 is a non-negotiable per-payment limit, choose from the verified current recurring cards above and reject any offer whose regular price reaches £10 or more. If you can afford a temporary promotion, use the separate introductory group and calculate the cost until the day you can actually leave. Then:

  1. Compare two qualifying offers with enough UK data and usable local coverage.
  2. Open Full plan details for their future prices, payment intervals, contract terms, roaming and supported features.
  3. Count any paid add-ons you normally need, rather than comparing headline prices alone.
  4. Use the chosen card's View Deal to reach the provider's checkout via the existing DealPriceCheck purchase route. Confirm the final price and terms before ordering.

Already happy with your EE signal? Switching to a cheaper brand on the same network can be sensible, but there is no requirement to switch just for a promotion. If a £10 ceiling is preventing you from buying enough data, the broader cheapest EE-network SIMs guide compares total cost without enforcing this page's strict threshold.

EE-network SIMs under £10: frequently asked questions

What is the best EE-network SIM under £10 right now?

The best current option is the lowest-cost recently verified qualifying plan that covers your data and feature needs. Use the live continuing-price cards above if your budget cannot increase, and compare both network capability and full renewal terms before selecting View Deal. There is no permanent brand winner.

Does a SIM at exactly £10 count as under £10?

No. Under £10 means strictly less than £10.00. A £10.00 tariff belongs in a £10-and-under or broader EE-network comparison; it is not a match for the strict current recurring list on this page.

Can I get 20GB or 30GB on EE's network for less than £10?

Some EE-based plans can fit that budget, depending on current terms. Look at the live qualifying cards and distinguish a continuing price below £10 from an introductory price that rises later. Do not infer that an advertised £5 for the first period guarantees 30GB for £5 indefinitely.

Is Lyca Mobile on EE, and is 1pMobile the same as EE?

Lyca and 1pMobile use EE's UK radio infrastructure. Neither is the EE retail brand itself, and product prices, support, roaming, speeds and extra features can differ. Compare their current Lyca and 1pMobile offers rather than assuming identical packages.

Can I get an EE-network 5G or eSIM plan under £10?

Potentially, yes. The exact offer, handset compatibility and current terms matter. A provider-wide 5G or eSIM claim does not prove that every budget SIM includes it; check Full plan details and checkout.

Will an introductory £9 unlimited SIM stay under £10?

Only if its ongoing recurring charge actually remains below £10 under the product's terms. Some offers advertise a limited number of discounted payments and then rise significantly. A long minimum contract can extend beyond that discount, so do not classify such an offer as a continuing sub-£10 plan.

Is a 30-day SIM billed every calendar month?

Not necessarily. Some bundles renew every 30 days; other rolling monthly arrangements bill on calendar-month dates. Twelve 30-day periods total 360 days, so you may need a thirteenth payment for continuous 365-day use. Check the exact operator's billing cycle.

Should I switch networks if EE-based coverage is poor at home?

Not purely on price. If EE's underlying signal is poor where you need it, another brand using EE may have a similar weakness. Check local predictions with Ofcom and compare other physical networks before buying.

Are PAYG credit and a renewing £5 bundle the same thing?

No. Traditional PAYG charges for actual usage and can have minimum-spend or top-up conditions. A bundle gives specified allowances for a period and may renew automatically. Decide by your expected data, calls, texts and total repeat payments, not a shared marketing label.

Bottom line: a strict under-£10 EE-network SIM is the one that remains affordable when you actually pay the bills, has enough usable data and keeps the services you need. Choose from the live continuing-price group when the ceiling is hard; treat the introductory group as a separate, time-limited decision. Then use the existing Full plan details and View Deal on the qualifying card.
