Cheapest SIMs on EE's network

Want EE-based coverage without paying more than you need? Compare Lyca Mobile, spusu, 1pMobile and EE itself. The cheapest suitable plan among the offers we track depends on your data use, the number of renewals and any minimum commitment. A low first payment may not mean a low overall bill. Start with the current offers below, then check the later charge and full cost before choosing.

How to find the cheapest suitable EE-network SIM

Start with the reason you want an EE-network SIM. The cheapest opening payment, the cheapest ongoing plan and the cheapest total cost for your intended stay can be different offers. The cards above are a starting point, not a personalised total-cost ranking: a low displayed price may cover only an introductory period. The EE-network comparison lets you compare the recorded tariffs in more detail.

Your priorityCompare firstWhat decides the winner

Buying route: compare the cards above by allowance, last-verified date and renewal terms. Open Full plan details on a qualifying card, then use its existing tracked View Deal link. An introductory price alone does not establish the cheapest suitable choice.

Why the lowest opening price can cost more over time

A first-payment discount only matters for the payments on which it applies. Compare the total payable for the same amount of usable data over the same number of renewal periods, including any mandatory charges.

Here is a fictional calculation, not a real tariff or price quote. Both offers give the same usable data, renew on the same schedule and have no other charges:

Paid 30-day periodsPlan A: £3 for first three, then £7Plan B: £5 eachCheaper over this period
3£9£15Plan A
6£30£30Tie
12£72£60Plan B

For three renewals, Plan A costs less. They tie at six; from the seventh renewal, Plan B is cheaper. The same offer can therefore win for a temporary SIM and lose for a longer stay. This is a buying rule, not a ranking of any real provider.

To calculate your own total, multiply the number of discounted payments by the introductory charge, add the remaining payments at the normal charge, then include unavoidable fees. Count payments over the same actual dates. Twelve consecutive 30-day periods cover just 360 days. If you need 365 days of uninterrupted service, you generally need 13 paid 30-day periods, unless the product has a different validity arrangement. A calendar-month contract has a different billing schedule. Compare coverage for the whole period, not just twelve advertised payments.

A longer contract adds a second calculation: what if you leave earlier than planned? A discounted first payment does not shorten a 12- or 24-month minimum term. Compare the total minimum-term payments, any published price increases and potential early-termination charges. A rolling plan may cost more per renewal yet leave you better off if your end date is uncertain.

What if you need 30GB, 50GB or unlimited data?

Don't use a small-bundle winner to choose a bigger tariff. The cheapest suitable 5GB plan tells you little about who offers the cheapest suitable 50GB plan, and a cheaper 30GB package is no bargain if you regularly need 40GB.

First choose an allowance based on your busiest typical month. Our how much mobile data do I need? guide and data usage calculator help you estimate it. You can inspect 30GB SIM deals and 50GB SIM deals to understand the wider market, then return to EE-network SIM deals to keep EE coverage as your requirement.

Consider two plausible offers with different allowances but a similar full-term cost. Buying the bigger one makes sense if you need the data or its other features, not because its price per gigabyte is lower. Compare the normal renewal price, extra-data charges, hotspot use, speed limits, eSIM, roaming and Wi-Fi Calling. For unlimited plans, check any speed or fair-use restrictions and the entire minimum contract term rather than the advertised opening payment.

Lyca, spusu, 1pMobile or EE: what do you give up by paying less?

Lyca Mobile: check how long a promotion really lasts

When Lyca advertises an introductory discount, it may make a real difference if your usage and intended term match the offer. It also has plans with selected international minutes and eSIM options, making the extras relevant rather than decorative for some buyers.

Read the new-customer eligibility, whether the advertised discount lasts one or several renewals, and the normal charge afterwards. Different Lyca prepaid-style and pay-monthly plans are not interchangeable; check the actual product's cancellation and renewal rules. International minutes are also restricted to eligible countries and number types — they do not mean free calls anywhere.

Start with our Lyca Mobile deals comparison and its tariff-level View Deal routes. You can also browse Lyca's cheap UK SIM plans to check its wider range. If a tracked tariff on our comparison suits you, use that tariff's own View Deal route.

spusu: weigh the renewal price against included services

spusu offers EE-based UK SIMs across different allowances. If a suitable spusu plan has a consistent recurring price, compare its total with any introductory promotion elsewhere over the time you actually expect to stay. That does not make spusu the cheapest at every allowance or every point in time.

Check the rolling-plan terms, compatible phone features, EU roaming allowance and any included international calling destinations. Spusu advertises EU calling on qualifying packages; that is not the same benefit as data roaming in Europe. Compare spusu's current offers on DealPriceCheck and, for a more detailed country-and-calling comparison, read Lyca Mobile vs spusu.

1pMobile: a useful baseline for flexible EE-network bundles

1pMobile offers 30-day Boosts as well as a separate traditional pay-per-use PAYG arrangement. The pricing logic matters: buying a 30-day Boost is not the same as adding pay-per-use credit to a classic PAYG account. Boosts give a defined allowance for their validity period, with renewal controlled by the selected product and account settings; traditional PAYG follows usage and minimum-spend rules. Our PAYG vs SIM-only explanation covers that distinction in more detail.

For regular UK data, compare the correct Boost allowance, any spending controls and the EU roaming policy, rather than assuming 1pMobile is the cheapest because it uses EE. Check our 1pMobile tariff listings first. You can also explore 1pMobile's available bundles beyond the offers shown in our catalogue.

Keeping the SIM for around a year? Also compare an annual prepaid bundle against successive 30-day Boosts. Paying upfront is a different commitment of money even if there is no conventional long-term contract. Check how much data renews each period, what happens to unused allowance, any out-of-bundle or automatic top-up charges, and refund terms. You can inspect 1pMobile's annual prepaid option if that suits your needs. This annual prepaid product is separate from the rolling-bundle cards in our catalogue; check the upfront amount and renewal conditions before deciding.

EE-branded SIMs: are the extras worth paying for?

EE's own SIM-only contracts may offer particular speed tiers, account-based benefits, multi-line features or extras that matter to some customers. Its published plans also vary by commitment length and can have scheduled price rises. If you are buying mainly for access to EE's underlying network and standard calls and data, though, there is no reason to stop at the EE-branded price.

Check the actual extras and minimum-term payments against our EE-branded SIM listings and the cheaper EE-network choices. Paying more is a rational choice only if you receive something useful in return; it is not evidence that the MVNO's radio signal must be worse.

Same EE network, different services and speed policies

1pMobile, Lyca and spusu use EE's underlying UK radio network, as do other providers not necessarily represented in our selected tariff catalogue. That provides a sensible starting point when you want to keep access to EE-based signal. It does not guarantee identical peak speeds, network management, device support, indoor Wi-Fi Calling, customer service, international calling or roaming terms.

Before switching, check the places that matter — home, work, commute and any rural spots where you regularly lose signal. Ofcom's mobile coverage checker gives independent predictions, not a guarantee of reception in a particular building. Where possible, try the proposed SIM before transferring the number you rely on. Our guide to the providers using EE's network explains the wider network landscape; it is deliberately separate from this price-led comparison.

If you depend on Wi-Fi Calling, check whether your exact device is approved on the smaller provider, not just on EE itself. For phone features, our UK Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE guide is more relevant than a headline 5G badge. If you need an eSIM, use EE-network offers alongside the eSIM catalogue and confirm it is available on the precise tariff.

How to choose a cheap EE SIM without regretting it

Try this order before pressing View Deal:

  1. Set a practical minimum. Use the highest normal data month from your recent history. A plan that regularly runs out is not a saving, even if its first payment is tiny.
  2. Set your time horizon. Count the payments you realistically expect to make — a temporary three-payment SIM is a different decision from a 12-month habit or a 24-month commitment.
  3. Count all charges. Include any first-payment discount, subsequent price, mandatory fees, extra data charges and exit fees. For long contracts include scheduled price changes when published.
  4. Check your non-negotiables. Your phone model, roaming country, Wi-Fi Calling, eSIM, international-call destinations and tethering use may rule out the cheapest visible plan.
  5. Compare real offers. Open EE-network SIM deals, use the site's current offer details and last-verified dates, then choose the qualifying plan through its existing View Deal link.

Only considering plans with a recurring price strictly below £10? Our EE-network SIMs under £10 guide uses that narrower threshold, distinguishing lasting sub-£10 recurring charges from introductory deals that later rise to £10 or more. This broader article intentionally includes plans priced at £10 and above when they offer a better match. If your main requirement is a short commitment, see 30-day and no-contract SIM deals.

Cheapest EE-network SIMs: frequently asked questions

Who has the cheapest SIM using EE's network?

There is no permanent provider winner. Use the live EE-network SIM comparison and compare the available tariffs with enough data for you. Check the cost after any introductory period, how frequently you pay and whether a minimum contract term applies. A tariff with the smallest opening payment is not necessarily cheapest for the time you plan to keep it.

Are Lyca, spusu and 1pMobile on EE's network?

Yes. They use EE's UK network infrastructure, but their own tariff prices, phone features, roaming, speed policies and support can differ from EE and from each other.

Is 1pMobile cheaper than EE?

It can be for similar UK data needs, especially if a flexible Boost meets your requirements. That does not establish 1pMobile as universally cheaper for every allowance or contract. Compare current tariff totals and any EE extras you actually need.

Does an advertised low price last for every renewal?

Not necessarily. An introductory charge can apply to only the first payment or a specified number of renewals, while the later price is higher. Check the promotional eligibility, duration, renewal cycle and total payable in the current offer details. A 30-day bundle should not automatically be treated as having twelve renewals over a full year.

Does the cheapest EE-network SIM have 5G and eSIM?

Some inexpensive plans include both, but neither is guaranteed merely by using EE infrastructure. Check the specific SIM or eSIM eligibility and handset compatibility in Full plan details before ordering.

Can I keep my number when switching to a cheaper SIM on EE’s network?

Yes. Even if both providers use EE infrastructure, switching between them is still a change of provider. Text PAC to 65075 from your current SIM and give the code to the new provider. Do not cancel your existing number before the transfer is arranged. Early-exit charges, if any, are separate. See how to keep your mobile number when switching.

Do budget EE-based plans include EU roaming or international calls?

Not uniformly. Some plans have an EU data allowance; others charge separately or cap it. International calls from the UK are a different benefit from roaming while abroad. Compare SIMs with EU roaming and our international calling SIM guide if either matters to you.

Bottom line: choose a suitable data allowance, compare the full cost for the dates you expect to use the SIM and check coverage and features before buying. Use the live EE-network cards for current tracked deals; if a separate annual prepaid product suits you better, price that over the same period too.
